After two years away from the game, HellRaisers is returning to Dota 2.

The Ukrainian esports organization has announced its return to the scene by signing the sponsorless roster of United. HellRaisers last fielded a Dota 2 team in 2017, sponsoring the former Planet Dog for The International 2017.

The lineup is built around veteran player Ilya “ALOHADANCE” Korobkin, who is best known for his run with Team Empire, but also played with HellRaisers’ original roster in 2014. The new roster includes Alik “V-Tune” Vorobej, Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin, and Alexander “Nix” Levin.

The news of their new Dota 2 roster comes just a few days after HellRaisers announced its overhauled Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster and return to the CIS region.

HellRaisers CEO Alex “Magician” Slabukhin commented on the announcement and announced that the new team’s journey begins at WePlay! Reshuffle Madness 2019.

“As promised, here comes our long-awaited return to Dota 2! We’re glad to see both our old friends (hey, Aloha) and new ones!,” Magician said in a statement. “Now it’s time to cheer for HR in Dota 2, too!”

ALOHADANCE is coming back to the competitive scene after taking an extended break which saw him focus his efforts on streaming. His teammates were active by comparison, with Miposhka last competing for Team Singularity, DM for Aachen City Esports, and Nix playing with various teams on loan from ESPADA. V-Tune joins on loan from Aachen City Esports.

HellRaisers’ ceiling as a team remains to be seen. The lineup is primarily comprised of young players and journeymen, which puts them at a disadvantage as they step into a CIS region that includes a number of formidable teams including Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere, and Gambit Esports.

The early results have been positive, though. The organization has advanced to the quarterfinals of the WePlay! Reshuffle Madness tournament, and will play against Nemiga Gaming for the opportunity to face Na’Vi in the semifinals.
