Pobelter Scores 1000th Kill in LCS career
Team Liquid Mid Laner Eugene “Pobelter” Park has secured the thousandth kill of his NA LCS career.
The kill came 26 minutes into Team Liquid shutting the door on Clutch Gaming, as Pobelter’s Orianna eliminated Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin’s Ezreal.
Pobelter’s thousandth kill was his first of the game, as Team Liquid characteristically won the early game through the bot lane. The “Notorious POB’s” achievement was almost an afterthought in another win for Liquid, who now sits in first place with an 8-2 record.
Pobelter is the fifth player in the history of the NA LCS to reach the 1,000 kill mark. The first four players: Jason “WILDTURTLE” Tran, Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, Soren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, and Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi. That’s some pretty good company.
Throughout his career, Pobelter has proven his reliability. While not called to carry for Team Liquid very often in 2018, Pobelter’s consistency and experience has anchored the team. His Azir has been quite sharp this season, but Liquid fans are more familiar with the wave shoving anti-carry style of Pobelter’s Malzahar, which has been Team Liquid’s best mid lane champion.
Pobelter took to twitter following his accomplishment, wasting no time in mapping out his next goal: 1,000 deaths. Given how well Team Liquid is playing of late, that might even be a more difficult achievement.
Team Liquid finished fourth in the 2018 NA LCS Spring Split before securing the championship in a dominant run through the 2018 NA LCS Spring Playoffs. It currently holds the most circuit points of any North American team looking to qualify for worlds, and with more performances like today’s, it should have no problem getting to the 2018 World Championship.
