TFT patch 9.18 adds new loot system, buff Akali and Wild trait
It’s time for Patch 9.18 and a new TFT update!
The most recent League of Legends patch brings interesting changes to TFT, starting with the mystery boxes.
Mystery boxes and Neeko’s Help
Patch 9.18 introduces a new mystery box system that completely changes the game experience. There are three kinds of boxes, common, uncommon, and rare. Each box includes gold, items components, full items, champions, and the new consumable Neeko’s Help.
Neeko’s Help is a consumable that allows the player to create a one-star copy of any champion. The clone goes directly to the bench, if the player has a full bench then the item bounces off.
System adjustments and items in Patch 9.18
The new loot system increases the amount of gold the players receive. To balance that change, the developers changed the XP required to level up.
Level 5: 10xp ⇒ 12xp
Level 6: 18xp ⇒ 20xp
Level 7: 30xp ⇒ 32xp
Level 8: 46xp ⇒ 50xp
Level 9: 64xp ⇒ 70xp
The champion tier drop rates will change in Patch 9.18, the most significant chance comes at level 6. Players will have to wait until level seven before they can get Tier 5 units.
Patch 9.18 will bring some clarification about the items that cannot stack. If a player decides to put two copies of an item that doesn’t stack, it will bounce off the unit. Phantom Dancer, Morellonomicon, and Red Buff are the offensive items that don’t stack.
Locket of the Iron Solari received a buff in Patch 9.18, now it grants a 300 shield that lasts for seven seconds. It’s a good time to start stacking Lockets.
The Sparring Gloves items that were teased ahead of the update will not go live with Patch 9.18. The developers are taking time to look into the flaws in the new set of items before the official release. These items were rescheduled for Patch 9.19.
Traits and Champions in Patch 9.18
Patch 9.18 added new breakpoints to Assasins and Sorcerers.
Assassin 9 pieces: Grants 225% crit damage and 40% crit chance
Sorcerer 9 pieces: Grants 175% spell power
The developer clarified that this is not a teaser about new champions. It’s possible to achieve the nine-piece bonuses using the Spatula items. The Assasin jump will be delayed, the goal is to guarantee access to the backline and not be body blocked by the units in the front.
Patch 9.18 added a new power to Wild units, at four Wild units the basic attacks from all the allies can’t miss.
Pantheon joined the game in Patch 9.17 and has proven to be a little too strong. Despite this direct nerf, Pantheon remains as a strong unit in the game with highly valuable traits.
Pantheon: Health, 1000 ⇒ 850. Attack Damage, 80 ⇒ 75
Akali might be nerfed in the Summoner’s Rift but in TFT she’s just getting stronger.
Akali: Ability Damage, 150/275/400 ⇒ 200/350/500.
