These new items are coming to Teamfight Tactics in Patch 9.18
Patch 9.18 will bring a new set of items to Teamfight Tactics.
Riot Games is committed to the constant improvement of Teamfight Tactics. Since the game mode became a permanent part of League of Legends, the developer added a new origin, reworked traits, and now is adding new items.
The next update will bring with it a set of items, reworks for the Infinity Edge, removal of the Sword of Divine, and a little surprise.
It all starts with the Sparring Gloves, the new component that translates into eight new full items in the game.
New Items added to TFT in patch 9.18
Sparring Gloves: +10% dodge chance, +10% crit chance. The Sparring Gloves combine offensive and defensive stats that increase depending on the final item the player chooses. If the player goes for a defensive item, the dodge chances go up to 20%, and the crit stat applies if the player picks an offensive option.
Thief’s Gloves: Sparring Gloves + Sparring Gloves. At the start of the round, the unit gets two temporary items. The quality is determined by the level of the player. Because Thief’s Gloves grants two items, the champion cannot hold another item.
Hands of Justice: Sparring Gloves + Tear of the Goddess. The wearer receives either 40% increased damage or 40 life on hit, and the effect lasts until the end of the round.
Infinity Edge: Sparring Gloves + BF Sword. Infinity Edge recipe will change in patch 9.18, as this item previously required two BF Swords. The stats also changed, with now crits dealing 200% more damage.
Arcane Gauntlet: Sparring Gloves + Needlessly Large Rod. The Arcane Gauntlet may look like the infinity gauntlet, but it won’t make enemy units disappear. Abilities can critically strike, which would make AP champions like sorcerers more powerful.
Quicksilver: Sparring Gloves + Negatron Cloak. Prevents crowd control effects applied to the unit, with a 5 second cooldown. Champions like Kennen, Morgana, and Leona are some of the units that apply crowd control to multiple enemies at the same time. Quicksilver is a useful counter against compositions with multiple crowd control effects.
Iceborne Gauntlet: Sparring Gloves: Chain Vest. Creates an expandable zone that reduces the opponent's attack speed by 30%. This item works similarly to Frozen Heart.
Backhand: Sparring Gloves + Giant’s Belt. At the beginning of the fight, the wielding unit gets a spell shield. The enemy that breaks the shield gets stunned for a long period of time. It doesn’t yet specify for how long.
Repeating Crossbow: Sparring Gloves + Recurve Bow. When the unit wearing thi dies, the item passes to a new unit. The item grants crit chance and attack speed that stack with each pass to a different champion. This item is perfect for frontline units that are typically the first to die.
Mittens: Sparring Gloves + Glove Spatula. Turns any unit into a Yordle with Mittens. Yordle units already get 35% and 60% dodge chance, and Mittens adds additional dodge chance.
Same TFT recipes, new TFT items
Patch 9.18 will add two new items to replace the Sword of Divine and the previous version of the Infinity Edge.
Lord's Edge: BF Sword + BF Sword. Units wearing Lord’s Edge cannot hold other items. The item grants a BF Sword that stays with the player until the end of the round. The BF Swords stack, so the player might end the round with multiple Lord’s Edges.
Last Whisper: BF Sword + Recurve Bow. The attacks from units holding Last Whisper can’t miss. This effect will be removed from Rapid Firecannon. Last Whispers deals true damage and are the perfect counter to Yordles with their 60% dodge chance.
Last but not least, patch 9.18 introduces the first consumable item, Neeko’s Help. Every TFT player knows how frustrating it is sometimes to wait for one key unit to level up. Neeko’s Help adds a copy of the unit that consumed it. If the bench is full, the item pops and it can be used later when the player has sufficient free space.
Patch 9.18 should go live on September 11.
