Team SoloMid cuts Wookiebookie, reveals new PUBG lineup
Team SoloMid’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds division is being shaken up.
The organization has announced the signing of Omer “Iroh” Develi, who replaces Peter “Wookiebookie” Lassen. TSM is also adding a new coach in Dylan "Didz" Didiano.
TSM has had a somewhat disappointing run in the PEL so far, failing to qualify for the FACEIT Global Summit after phase one, and the GLL Grand Slam after phase two. The organization’s only special event appearance over the last year came at the PUBG Europe League Kick-off Cup, where they finished 25th out of 32 teams. TSM has sought to be at the top of league since its formation in 2017 but has not come close to achieving that goal.
They hope to fix that by swapping out Wookiebookie for a new player that has performed on the PEL stage.
Iroh is a Turkish player who joins following a run with Digital Athletics. He most recently represented Turkey at the PUBG Nations Cup.
TSM cited his “frag-heavy playstyle” as the factor that drew their attention and also noted that he was the seventh-highest damage dealer in the PEL despite playing on the 10th-place team.
TSM also hopes to improve its standing with the addition of a new coach.
Didz first appeared in competitive PUBG as a player for Team Dignitas. The team stayed together after their release and was reformed as Shoot To Kill. Following the team’s signing with Lazarus Esports, he transitioned into a coaching role. He also coached the Canadian team at the PUBG Nations Cup.
Both Iroh and Didz turned to Twitter to share their happiness over joining TSM, a team they hope to represent well. Wookiebookie tweeted to confirm his departure from TSM and went on to announce he will play for Tempus.
PEL Phase 3 begins on August 30.
