The Pokemon World Championship 2022 is almost here and the schedule and list of events are all penned in.
After being postponed for multiple years, the largest Pokemon competitive showcase has returned. Taking place in London, the festive tournament will feature the Pokemon TCG, the Pokemon VGC, and more. Looking to tune in for the action-packed weekend? Here is how to watch the Pokemon World Championship 2022.
Commonly referred to as Worlds in the Pokemon community, the Pokemon World Championship is where all of the top players in the world come together to compete and it returns in 2022. Throughout the year, players compete in a structured tournament schedule for the card game, the video game, Pokemon GO, and Pokemon Unite in hopes of qualifying for Worlds.
Each year Worlds takes place in a different major city which inspires its overall theme, right down to the exclusive merch. This time, Worlds is at the ExCel London convention center in London and has the theme to match.
The event begins on August 18, 2022 and concludes on August 21, 2022. Attendees, both competitors and spectators, can arrive on August 17 to grab their Welcome Kit and check in. Here are some of the schedules to keep in mind:
Players can watch the 2022 Pokemon World Championship by tuning in to one of six different Twitch channels. Each of the four games being represented has its own dedicated channel, guaranteeing as much action as possible and the main Pokemon channel will include action from all four titles.
Like previous years, there are spectator badges at Worlds for those lucky enough to be in London who want to take in some of the action. For those watching from home, there will be full coverage all four days on Pokemon’s official Twitch channel. There is also a specific channel for each game:
After years without Worlds, fans can expect hardcore competition, non-stop action, and tons of fun content across Twitch, YouTube, and social media from attendees. Expect loads of action and bold strategies to be on display.
The World Championship will include five different games:
This is set to be the last hurrah for both Pokken Tournament and Sword and Shield. Pokken Tournament is being dropped from official competitions while Sword and Shield will be replaced with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which launch in November.
