With the LCK returning early next month, the Korean Esports Association has announced the full schedule for the upcoming split.
The 2020 LCK Spring Split will begin on February 5, with 10 teams starting a new journey towards playoff qualification. The tournament is set as a double round-robin group stage, and five teams that end the split highest in the standings will get an opportunity to grab a spot at the 2020 Mid-Season Invitational reserved for champion of the spring, as well as seeding into the 2020 Rift Rivals for the best four teams.
The first two teams to compete at this year’s LCK stage are Damwon Gaming and T1, two teams that had an opportunity to represent Korea at the 2019 World Championship.Â
And while many fans expect the first match to be the clash of the region’s best, neither Damwon or T1’s new rosters were able to prove their strength at the 2019 KeSPA Cup, though their clash should make for an interesting opening to the new season regardless. It’s likely to be a close match, but .
On the same Wednesday, KT Rolster and Gen.G will clash as well. From then on, LCK will continue over five days a week, from Wednesdays to Sundays, with each day setting the stage for two matches. When the second round of the split begins in March, LCK will lower the number of matches per week, and the tournament will be run from Thursday to Monday with the last match of the Spring Split planned to happen on April 12.
KeSPA has also started selling the tickets for matches. The full schedule for the 2020 LCK Spring Split is available here.
