Gen.G brings merch to United States by partnering with Meta Threads

Korean esports organization Generation Gaming, better known as Gen.G, has partnered up with Meta Threads as their apparel provider for the North American market.

Meta Threads will produce and distribute Gen.G branded apparel starting with the Gen.G 2019 Pro Jersey. They join a long list of other organizations working with the merch manufacturer including Team Liquid, Immortals, and NRG Esports.

Gen.G chief operating officer Arnold Hur said the organization is excited to expand their United States’ gear offering together with Meta Threads. “They are a great partner for us and will help us continue to build and reach out to a unique fan base around the world. We’ve got a lot of exciting plans ahead for all our fans,” he stated.

This partnership is exclusive to the North American market and does not include South Korea or China, where Gen.G also operates. The organization fields competitive players from both ends of the Pacific, with a long list of talent from both South Korea and the United States. Working with Meta Threads helps to service their North American fans.

The deal with Meta Threads follows Gen.G’s decision to open new headquarters in Los Angeles. The facility will serve as office space for Gen.G’s US-based employees and content creators, as well as a training facility for its Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Apex Legends teams.

Gen.G is also the parent company of Overwatch League’s Seoul Dynasty. It has acquired eleven teams in different esports titles with Korean squads in League of Legends, PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds, and Overwatch alongside American teams in Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty.

The organization has enjoyed solid success over the years, winning the 2017 League of Legends World Championship, 2018 PUBG Global Invitational, and 2017 and 2018 Heroes of the Storm Global Championships.
