G2 Esports beat Origen, look unstoppable in the 2019 LEC Summer Split

G2 Esports seems unstoppable in the 2019 LEC Summer Split.

The Spring champions destroyed Origen in a quick game that hurt their place in the standings and may have shaken their confidence moving forward. The win also adds to Origen’s eight-game active losing streak against G2.

Top laner Martin “Wunder” Hansen locked in his first Kled of the season. This champion received some buffs in Patch 9.14 and is making a comeback to the competitive scene.

Right from the start, G2 gave Origen no room to breathe. The early trades were aggressive in all three lanes. Jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski protected his laners and had a good read on the enemy jungler.

Barney “Alphari” Morris gave up first blood in the top lane after a greedy exchange. Instead of regrouping and slowing down the pace of the game, Origen attempted to match G2’s tempo. The task proved to be impossible.

G2 put an end to the laning phase with a significant gold advantage. The squad grouped around the mid lane and hunted down Origen’s players.

Rasmus “Caps” Winther was exceptional on Corki. He took over the mid lane and neutralized Erlen “Nukeduck” Holm to the point where he became irrelevant in the match. Caps could even go one-versus-two in the jungle and get out of it with a double kill.

G2 took the recently-spawned baron and escorted the minions into Origen’s base. At 23 minutes, they took their tenth victory of the split.

Origen is falling down in the standings at the worst time possible. With only seven matches left in the regular season, they can’t afford another misstep. Team Vitality, Misfits Gaming, and Rogue are fighting tooth and nail for a place in playoffs and Origen is looking like an easy target.

In Week seven they are facing a surging Misfits lineup that pulled off a major upset versus Fnatic, and FC Schalke 04.
