After a disappointing 2017-2018 season, CompLexity Gaming's Dota 2 team is being given a reboot.
Over the last week, David "MoonMeander" Tan, David "Moo" Hull, and Adam Erwann Shah "Adam" bin Akhtar Hussein have departed the North American organization and become free agents. This marks a disappointing end to a tumultuous year for CompLexity.
Despite a hot start to the year that included top-four finishes at the Perfect World Masters and Starladder Minors, the team stalled as the calendar turned. This led to a number of roster shakeups, most notably the releases of longtime team captain Kyle "swindlemelonzz" Freedman and carry Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin.
Those tweaks didn’t lead to better results.. Ahead of the qualifiers for The International 2018, CompLexity added Adam and MoonMeander to round out its lineup. Though the early outlook was solid, the squad ultimately fell short of a TI8 berth.
With the departures of MoonMeander, Moo, and Adam, CompLexity has just two players remaining on its Dota 2 roster; Linus "Limmp" Blomdin and Zakari "Zfreek" Freedman.
It is currently unclear if those players will remain with the team, or if CompLexity will look to completely reconstruct a new team heading into next season.
