Team SoloMid and Logitech have come to terms on a three-year extension of their long-running partnership. Financial terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.

If previous perks of the sponsorship are anything to go by, TSM’s financial benefits will come in the form of free Logitech gear for players, travel and lodgings, and likely a hefty sum of cash to play around with. In turn, Logitech gets to tie its name to one of the top esports organizations in the world through 2022.

For Logitech, the brand awareness alone likely pays for itself, but the company also enjoys a very particular benefit in that they’re able to pick the brains of pro players to improve their products.

Logitech has long been the highlight among a list of other prominent sponsors buoying the team. Lenovo, Dr. Pepper, Twitch, and Gillette are just a few of the names offering support for the world-class collection of pros.

TSM has been a stalwart competitor in many competitive scenes since founder and owner Andy “Reginald” Dinh erected the team in 2009. The player-turned-coach enjoyed early success in League of Legends, with the height of the team’s success coming in 2015 when it won its first international championship at the Intel Extreme Masters event in Kotawice, Poland.

Since then, TSM has worked to diversify its roster of talent across multiple games. The company has competitive rosters for popular battle royale titles Fortnite, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and even Rocket League. Most recently, it acquired Excelerate Gaming’s Rainbow Six Siege squad in time for Season 10 of the game’s Pro League play.

Alongside competitive teams, TSM invests heavily in highly skilled and entertaining streaming personalities to elevate the brand. Names like Ali “Myth” Kabbani, Octavian “Kripparian” Morosan, and Jake “chocoTaco” Throop regularly pull thousands of viewers in with their streams.

Despite its steady history, Team SoloMid’s estimated overall earnings of $3 million is still outclassed by the likes of Team Liquid, Cloud9, and Fnatic. Regardless, TSM manages to remain one of the most recognizable and valuable brands in all of esports.
