Dr. Disrespect Twitch channel restored following ban at E3

Dr. Disrespect is back in action.

After being scrubbed from Twitch earlier this month, the mustachioed streamer’s channel has returned to the platform.

After two weeks of displaying the dreaded “unless you’ve got a time machine, that content is unavailable” error message, Dr. Disrespect’s channel has been restored, fully intact. Fans awaiting his returned spotted the reappearance and quickly celebrated in chat with many gifting subs to help rebuild his following after taking a hit from the ban.

Earlier this month Dr. Disrespect, real name Guy Beahm, took a break from his normal routine of playing battle royale games such as Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to host an IRL event at E3 2019. Though the bulk of that time featured him walking the show floor, interacting with fans, and trying out new games, the cameras kept rolling as he went into the men’s bathroom with his bodyguard.

Other event goers were made visibly awkward by having a live camera brought into the bathroom. No nudity was shown but this was still found to have been in violation of Twitch’s content standards, resulting in a ban. Additionally, his credential to attend E3 was revoked.

Dr. Disrespect’s Twitch channel was taken down and no statement was given by the platform. The streamer himself fell completely silent across all social media platforms in the days that followed, leading many to wonder if he may have been handed a permanent ban.

He eventually returned to Twitter and YouTube, but his Twitch channel remained in limbo.

Though the ban ultimately proved to be two weeks long, that is an eternity in the fast-moving world of streaming. Twitch subscribers are notoriously quick to nix their support of a streamer that doesn’t broadcast regularly, which pressures content creators to stay active.

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins famously lost 40,000 subscribers in under 48 hours when he took time off to compete at the 2018 Fortnite Pro-Am tournament. Though he won the event, he still took a profound financial hit by competing instead of staying at home and streaming.

Per TwitchTracker.com, Dr. Disrespect’s subscriber total went down nearly 70% from May to June due to his ban. He will likely rebound a bit over the coming days, but his bathroom break was a very costly one.
