Fornite 9.30 brings back Pump Shotgun, begins 14 Days of Summer
Epic released v9.30's first patch notes this morning and they've been a big hit with the Fortnite community.
The Pump Shotgun is back
The classic Revolver has been replaced by a new version that is described as "simple, reliable," and "powerful," available in Epic and Legendary variants. The new weapon holds six rounds, and does 66 damage per shot.
But that wasn't the only weapon-related news. In fact, Fortnite players were way more interested in the return of an older gun. The Pump Shotgun was unvaulted and brought back in Uncommon and Rare varieties. Players can find this game-changing weapon in vending machines, and as floor loot.
"There's been a lot of feedback around the Tactical Shotgun and Combat Shotgun effectiveness," developers explaind in the notes. "We're experimenting with a world where the Pump Shotgun joins the current shotgun lineup."
Another major change is the vaulting of the Rare Tatical Assault Rifle. Developers discussed that the unvaulting of the Suppressed Submachine Gun led them to make the change, ensuring that the loot distribution in the Rare class remain well distributed. Instead, the Suppressed SMG was brought back to the popular battle royale to "fill a complimentary role to the Burst Submachine Gun."
14 Days of Summer
The other big update that comes with the patch is 14 Days of Summer, as predicted by data miners. Each day there will be a new weapon unvaulted for 24 hours only, along with a daily challenge and free rewards. New outfits will also pop up in the Item Shop every day.
There will also be a new Limited Time Mode each day for the 14-day event. This includes Heavy Metal Squads, where only weapons with "heavy" in the name will be found in loot boxes, and Storm Chasers: Surfin, which allows squads to ride the waves in an attempt to stay afloat. Splashdown Squads makes use of the new Water Balloon Item and Power Up Solos has players fighting to become the "most powerful" in the match by consuming as many shields as they can.
The full list of upcoming LTMs can be found on the official event page.
