GIRLGAMER Sydney announces Benefit Cosmetics as new sponsor
GIRLGAMER Esports Festival's Sydney event has just announced a new non-endemic sponsor, Benefit Cosmetics. Other brand partners sponsoring the event include EB Games, Logitech, and ASTRO Gaming.
While this is Benefit Cosmetics' first venture into esports, fellow LVMH brand Sephora sponsored the GIRLGAMER Esports Festival last year, located in Portugal.
According to The Esports Observer, specific brand activations are not yet finalized but they will include Benefit Cosmteics signage and product demos at the convention. A spoksperson has also said that involvement with other regional finals is "under consideration."
“Our mission with GIRLGAMER is to empower female players to compete at the highest level. It’s such a privilege having Benefit as a partner, given the actions taken by the brand throughout their history to support and empower women. We couldn’t be more excited to work with a partner that shares our vision so passionately," Andreia Conceição, partnerships manager of GIRLGAMER Esports Festival said.
The GIRLGAMER Esports Festival that Benefit Cosmetics is sponsoring will take place in Sydney, from June 9 to June 10. The events, which are part of the Vivid Sydney festival of "Light, Music, and Ideas," include a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive qualifier, Overwatch tournaments, and a Super Smash Bros. tournament open to all genders. There will also be esports panels and a cosplay contest.
The Seoul Festival's main tournament will feature League of Legends. Madrid has a "Beat the Pro" challenge for attendees. Sao Paulo features a League of Legends and CS:GO tournament for South American women.
At each festival, participants are competing for a chance to play at the World Finals in Dubai for CS:GO and League of Legends. The World Finals will also present a business conferece featuring talks with female industry leaders from around the world. This is the GIRLGAMER's third year.
