JJoNak of New York Excelsior has top selling OWL Stage 2 jersey
New York Excelsior's flex support Bang "JJoNak" Seong-hyun was recently revealed to have the top selling jersey for Stage 2 of the Overwatch League's second season.
In a recent tweet, Overwatch League's clothing manufacturer Fanatics revealed the top seven best selling jerseys from Stage 2. On the top of the list was JJoNak, who had taken the number one spot from Atlanta Reign's former DPS star, Daniel "Dafran" Francesca.
Stage 2 support stars
In the Overwatch League's inaugural season, JJoNak was crowned MVP. Known as the "Zenyatta god," the star support player has continued to gain fans through his game-changing Zenyatta plays. The top support player continously deals over 50,000 damage per match, while also healing his teammates for around the same amount.
JJoNak's role model, Seoul Dynasty's Ryu "ryujehong" Jehong, was another support player on the list. He came in at number three for Stage 2, while a third support player, Atlanta Reign's Dusttin "Dogman" Bowerman, took seventh place.
Moving up in popularity
There were large leaps in jersey sales for two Overwatch League players on Fanatic's list. Philadelphia Fusion's off-tank Gael "Poko" Gouzerch is now the second highest selling jersey in the OWL, a big jump from his seventh place slot in the last stage.
Coming in at 11th place in the Stage 2 standings, the Philadelphia Fusion aren't having their greatest run at the moment. Some fans speculate the rise in jersey sales for Poko might be related to the Overwach League grand finals being held in Philadelphia.
Another move on the top jersey list was the Dallas Fuel's main tank Son "OGE" Minseok. Once not even on the list, OGE is now in fourth place after the Fuel made the playoffs this season. The team is currently sitting in sixth place with a 5-2 record.
Not a shock
The top seven list is rounded out by two San Francisco Shock players. After winning the Stage 2 playoff championship, it's no surprise that DPS Jay "Sinatraa" Won and main tank Matthew "Super" DeLisi took two spots on Fanatic's jersey list. The two popular players took the fifth and sixth spots after not dropping a single map throughout Stage 2, and then defeating the formerly unbeaten Vancouver Titans.
Stage 3 of the Overwatch League's second season will begin June 6. That date will be the start of an entirely new list of top selling jerseys for Fanatic. A blend of stand-out performances and personalities, along with new standings, will most likely result in different top sellers.
