"On joining CLG, I'm excited about playing in North America and playing in the LCS," Ruin said. "I’m very excited to meet you NA fans, so I will try my best this split for the team and for the fans. I hope you guys support me.”
In the video that accompanied Counter Logic Gaming's "Ready to #RuinTheLCS" tweet, Ruin expressed his excitement over working with CLG mid laner Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage, who he felt was a good player back when they were both playing in Europe two years ago. Ruin also heard people saying PowerOfEvil was a nice guy and a good person.
He also said he can't wait to work with the team's coach, Heo "Irean" Yeong-cheol.
"He's my first Korean coach. So I'm very excited to see what he can do for the team," Ruin said.
Counter Logic Gaming has made this major roster move to prepare for the LCS Summer Split after a disappointing spring performance. The team tied for seventh place alongside OpTic Gaming, finishing with a 7-11 record. The squad hasn't managed to qualify for the playoffs since 2017.
