Snoop Dogg is back on Twitch, and this time he’s actually playing.

Sponsored by NetherRealm, Snoop Dogg hosted a Mortal Kombat 11 tournament before the game’s official release. Held under the “Snoop Dogg’s Gangsta Gaming League” series, the King of the Kompound live stream had Snoop Dogg facing off against fellow rapper 21Savage, Playboy model Rachel Ako, and other well known celebrities from the entertainment industry.

Snoop Dogg can be seen using multiple fatalities against 21Savage, who can’t seem to keep up with the competition. But Snoop was no match for actress Brooke Bridges, who ended up taking home the large trophy in the end.

“I let the lady win,” said a salty Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dogg and his fellow commentator discussed their approval of the game. They appreciated the new cut scenes the game created for the game’s counters and punishes. And, of course, the new fatalities. Because who doesn’t love a good beheading?

The live stream also featured multiple giveaways for viewers, some dancing, and, yes, smoking. A lot of smoking. During many of the stream’s clips, the room where the tournament was held seemed to be enveloped in a thick layer of smoke.

This was a generally well received stunt by Snoop. But he hasn’t always been a favorite in the gaming community. In January of 2018, Twitch users were not too pleased when they accused the west coast rappr of faking his live streamed gameplay of the game SOS.

At first, it seemed like Snoop might have actually been playing the survival game. He appeared to run around with his team, grabbing items and chatting about alcohol. But all of a sudden Snoop Dogg started to smoke a blunt while simultaneously reading something on his phone. Despite both of his hands being tied up with these activities, the gameplay continued on behind him.

The lack of authenticity rubbed many Twitch users the wrong way. They spammed “FAKE” repeatedly on the chat.

But a lot of viewers took a less harsh stance on the matter.

“WEED GIVES YOU SUPERPOWERS!” one Twitch user exclaimed.
