Tfue not interested in playing Fortnite competitively anymore

The Fortnite World Cup will most likely be the last time Turner "Tfue" Tenney participates in a competitive tournament. In a recent stream, the FaZe Clan pro Fortnite player said he would rather focus on streaming.

"I shouldn’t even be playing this shit. I don’t care. I don’t need the money anyway. I’m just playing it for fun," Tfue said on a recent livestream.

Tfue appeared conflicted on the stream. At one point he told his fans that he probably wouldn't even qualify for the event regardless. A few moments later, he said he could "definitely fucking do well." Either way, Tfue made it clear that he'd rather just be streaming.

Tfue never said what his reason was for retiring for competitive play, but he has been publicly struggling with neck-related health issues since March. He also told his viewers that he wakes up with extreme headaches, possibly due to dehydration.

On one stream, Tfue showed fans a large lump on his neck.

"I went to the doctors today and they didn't really know what the fuck it was," Tfue said.

He appeared frustrated at his doctor's lack of immediate answers, and noted that if antibiotics didn't work he'd have to go to a specialist. On March 22, he tweeted that he was in the emergency room

Despite his ongoing health issues, Tfue has been consistently streaming for his five million Twitch followers and posting videos to his 10 million YouTube subscribers. Each of his videos get well over 2 million views, making him one of the most successful streamers both in Fortnite and in competitive gaming in general.

Tfue has also been quite successful in the competitive side of Fortnite. He has reportedly won over $500,000 during a span of two years, competing in 26 tournaments along the way. The Fortnite World Cup will be the biggest tournament yet for Tfue, and for every other Fortnite pro in the scene. The ongoing process for the Fortnite World Cup is set to continue on April 20.
