Former Schalke 04 mid laner Felix “Abbedagge” Braun will be moving to North America to play for 100 Thieves in the LCS.

The move happens after several rumors surrounding 100 Thieves and its new mid laner. Originally, Fnatic mid laner Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer was rumored to join the team but, to everyone’s surprise, it will be the German super talent. Abbedagge joins after a solid split with Schalke in the LEC, placing fourth in the playoffs after getting knocked out by finalists Rogue. Now, Abbedagge will join up with Can “Closer” Çelik and the rest of 100 Thieves to chase a trophy in the summer split.

100 Thieves ended the LCS spring split in fourth place after getting knocked out in the Mid-Season Showdown by TSM. While a fourth place isn’t something to be ashamed of, 100 Thieves was clearly chasing more. The overall problem for 100 Thieves has been inconsistencies in the mid lane for a while now and it’s expected that Abbedagge will solve that issue.

Abbedagge will replace Tommy “ry0ma” Le who played the majority of the past split after being subbed in over Tanner “Damonte” Damonte who originally sat on the starting spot. With a stable mid lane, 100 Thieves could potentially make a run for a title and a spot at the upcoming 2021 World Championship.

Replacing Abbedagge on Schalke 04 will be the young Ilias “Nuclearint” Bizriken, who has played for the Academy team Schalke 04 Evolution during the spring split.

Abbedagge signing drops after Ssumday gets NA residency

The news about Abbedagge dropped shortly after 100 Thieves could reveal that top laner Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho has gained North American residency. The Korean top laner has played in North America since December 2016 and has now finally gotten his green card. This means that Ssumday will no longer be considered an import, which got 100 Thieves to act quickly.

Ssumday has been a vital part of the 100 Thieves project ever since its entrance to the LCS in 2017. Even after the 2020 season where 100 Thieves made several roster swaps, Ssumday was the only player to stay on the team.

100 Thieves will be back on the LCS stage when the summer split kicks off.

Officially a NA resident!

Congratulations, @Ssumday on your green card! So proud of how far you’ve come and sticking with us since the very beginning! #100T pic.twitter.com/a6OWlRLq8w
