North American organization 100 Thieves has signed former M80 player Daniel “eeiu” Vucenovic to the Valorant roster, it was announced last night.

Eeiu, known as one of the highest-performing players in the Challengers scene, but was unable to qualify for the Americas-partnered league following a defeat to The Guard in the grand final. But he’s got a chance to perform at the highest level following his pick-up by 100 Thieves.

Although eeiu has joined permanently, former TSM player Nicholas “NaturE” Garrison will complete the roster as a temporary stand-in.

100 Thieves is set to compete at the Red Bull Home Ground #4 tournament, which will be held in Tokyo, Japan. Some of the top teams in the world, including the likes of Fnatic and DRX, were invited to the event alongside Cloud9.

100 Thieves is set to face off against Turkish team FUT Esports in the opening round. The match will be tough, as FUT recently acquired former Natus Vincere player Mehmet “cNed” Yağız İpek to the Valorant roster.

Eeiu could be the perfect fit for 100 Thieves

The pickup of eeiu was met with a warm reception by fans of the team since he’s known as one of the best players in the most recent Challengers season.

During his tenure with M80 in the regular Challengers circuit, eeiu was the fourth highest-rated player with 1.15, according to VLR.gg. He, alongside the rest of his team, secured qualification for the Ascension tournament following a first-place finish in the regular season, ahead of The Guard.

But M80 would fall to The Guard in the grand final of the tournament, causing the team to be eliminated. As a result, The Guard secured qualification to the Americas league in 2024, but this was de-railed following a breakdown in negotiations between Riot Games and The Guard.
