100 Thieves pulled off a major upset against  Team Liquid and added another victory in the 2020 LCS Spring Split.

The thieves are back in business as 100 Thieves secured a win over Team Liquid with a very convincing performance. The star of the day was top laner Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho who closed the game with a quadra kill.

100 Thieves outperforms Team Liquid

Team Liquid and 100 Thieves started the season with mixed performances. Both teams had high highs and low lows in the first two weeks of the competition. Entering week three, the teams were tied in fourth place at 2-2.

100 Thieves’ jungler William “Meteos” Hartman was proactive in the early game, creating opportunities to apply pressure. On the other side of the map, Shern “Shernfire” Cherng Tai couldn’t match up Meteos’ moves on the map and started to fall behind.

With Meteos playing an aggressive game, 100 Thieves was a different beast. The team was confident and assertive, going for the smart plays and rotations.

100 Thieves kept the pressure on during the mid game and Team Liquid had no other option but to adopt a defensive stance. Team Liquid is the type of team that waits for the enemies’ mistakes, but 100 Thieves played an almost flawless game without falling into a passive state.

Individually, Tommy “Ryoma” Le and Ssumday outperformed Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong and Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen. Ssumday had Impact’s number and secured two solo kills over his lane opponent.

100 Thieves did everything right, going for the objectives at the right time. Not everything was perfect, as Jensen managed to steal the second baron of the game from Meteos’ hands. It was an interesting play to watch, but it didn’t change the outcome of the game.

100 Thieves took the victory and moved up in the rankings. Team Liquid is currently in seventh place.
