New Valorant agent Tejo detailed with release date and abilities

Valorant’s 27th playable agent, Tejo, is about to join the roster and fans will want to know all about his abilities and the release date at which they’ll be able to play him.
There’s no shortage of free-to-play FPS games in today’s marketplace. From Counter-Strike 2 to Call of Duty: Warzone, only the games that keep things fresh for players tend to stay relevant. The others are forgotten and eventually canceled or abandoned. Valorant is one of the few FPS games that has flourished, and Riot Games’ continuous support is a large reason for that.
Valorant’s roster of playable characters is ever-expanding. From the smoker Clove to the sentinel Vyse, the game has continuously received new characters for players to try. The latest addition to its roster is Colombian Initiator Tejo. Here’s everything about Tejo’s abilities and when he’ll join the playable roster of agents.
Release date details for Valorant agent Tejo
Valorant’s Agent 27 Tejo will come to the game in Season 2025 Act 1 with a January 7, 2025 release date.
Upon the new Act’s kick-off, players can complete Tejo’s recruitment event, a system first introduced in Episode 7. Players who earn enough experience will unlock the character automatically for free. Other ways to unlock the agent early include availing the Game Pass subscription benefits or by using 1,000 Valorant Points.
Those who don’t unlock Tejo by the time the recruitment event ends can spend 8,000 Kingdom Credits to unlock the new agent. Like any other playable character, Tejo will be available in the in-game store’s agent section.
Valorant agent Tejo abilities explained
Tejo is another Initiator agent for Valorant’s roster whose abilities specialize in gathering information and menacing enemies from a distance.
Similar to other Valorant agents, Tejo has three primary abilities that are listed below.
- Guided Salvo: This ability has the player equip an AR targeting system and select two target locations on the map. The missiles automatically navigate to the target locations and detonate on arrival. The missiles explode multiple times, similar to KAY/O’s grenade ability.
- Stealth Drone: Similar to Sova’s drone, this ability has the player take control of a stealth drone’s movement. Pressing the fire button while controlling the drone sends out a pulse that suppresses and reveals enemies who are hit by it.
- Special Delivery: This is Tejo’s most straightforward ability. The player equips a sticky grenade launcher and fires a grenade that sticks to the first surface it hits and explodes, concussing any targets caught in the blast. Like Sova’s arrows, players can make the grenade bounce a single time prior to it exploding.
Finally, Tejo’s ultimate ability Armageddon is his ace in the hole. Using it has the player equip a tactical strike targeting map, similar to Brimstone’s ultimate. The player then selects two points. The first is the origin point and the second is the end point. With that selection made, activate the ability to unleash a wave of explosions from the starting point to the endpoint.

The ability has some limitations to ensure that it isn’t overpowered. The first is that the ultimate ability can only cover one site. The second is that the explosions slowly start from the starting point and reaches its endpoint over time, allowing players to move out of the way if they react quickly.
The ultimate ability is sure to be ideal for key Valorant objectives like defending the spike after planting it and forcing enemies out of secluded hiding spot. Players won’t have to wait long to try it for themselves.
