What the new slot Laced gets right, and where it tests your patience
Laced, a new online developed by Shady Lady, is one of the new year’s most unconventional slot releases, pairing a bold niche theme with mechanics that go far beyond the usual spin-and-win routine.
Laced’s themes and visuals may raise eyebrows with their imagery and a perpetually zoned-out protagonist, but the game’s fresh color palette is undeniably eye-catching. With a sofa set as the backdrop for a payline littered with greens, pizza slices, and tree symbols, Laced is easy on the eyes, highly rewarding, and visually cohesive.
The psychedelic slot will appeal to bettors who like to indulge in modern slot features and a store filled with bonus buys, boosters, and more.
Laced slot: Gameplay, mechanics, features
Shady Lady’s Laced plays on a 5-reel, 6-row grid with 7,776 ways to win, making it a slot where outcomes depend far more on features than regular symbol hits. In Laced, most of the action revolves around clearing the screen rather than filling it.
It plays with high volatility, so it’s normal to sit through slow stretches before anything meaningful lands. The RTP is set at 96.1%, right around the industry average.
In Shady Lady’s tehamtic slot, wins are formed by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right, after which Cascading Reels kick in, removing winning symbols and dropping new ones into place for potential chain reactions.
What sets Laced apart, besides its unconventional visuals, is how often the grid is blocked. Bud symbols regularly cover large portions of the reels, preventing wins until a Lighter symbol lands. When it does, the Burning Buds feature ignites a random group of Buds, removing them and turning each into the same mystery symbol. If another Lighter is revealed during the burn, the feature can chain again, opening even more of the grid.
This sequence demands both time and patience to play out, and that means quick spins will aren’t always going to see great yields. Laced is a slot that typically demands a little more play from players who want to find its more valuable wins.
On top of that, Laced includes an extensive store, offering bonus buys, boosters, loot boxes, and Highlight Reels for players who prefer fast-tracking the action.

Boosters are the most rewarding option for those willing to spend additional money in their hunt for a bigger payout.
- Bonus Boost: increases total bet to 1.5x for higher feature trigger chances.
- Big Bonus Boost: increases total bet to 5x, further improving trigger frequency.
- Lighter Boost: costs 25x bet and guarantees a Lighter symbol every spin, removing the main base-game bottleneck.
Special Purple and Gold Laced Buds add another layer. Burning these summons elephant wilds, which carry multipliers ranging from small 1×1 wilds with modest boosts to large 2×2 wilds that can dramatically spike payouts.
In Laced, free spins are triggered by scatters, with bonus rounds increasing the frequency of both Laced Buds and Lighters.
How to play the Laced slot

- Visit Laced’s page on Stake and sign in to your account.
- Use the + and – icons to adjust your stake before spinning.
- Click the Spin button to start the round.
- Once a spin is in progress, the Spin button changes into a Quick Stop option, allowing you to halt the reels and speed up gameplay.
- To enable autoplay, select the autoplay button and choose how many spins you want to run.
- Quickspin can be toggled on or off to reduce overall spin time, while remaining autoplay rounds are shown on screen during play.
Laced is a high-volatility slot, so wins can feel rare but pay out in a big way when they really it, which also makes the game a great option for slots and casino streamers.
For regular bettors, patience matters more than spin speed. The base game often feels blocked by Bud symbols, so real spins start when Lighters land and open the grid. Because symbol pays are modest, avoid chasing quick wins and instead manage your bankroll around the idea of potential dry spells, especially in high-volatility sessions.
This is a potentially exciting game with the rewards to match, but those rewards aren’t always quick to be handed out.
