N3on Claims To Be the World’s First AI Streamer
Controversial content creator Rangesh “N3on” Mutama is facing backlash after announcing that he plans to use AI in his streams going forward, claiming to be the world’s first AI streamer.
N3on is no stranger to controversy, but fans thought he was evolving beyond his dramatic reputation with some recent high profile events. In recent weeks he was apparently seen as a GTA character, livestreamed with Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg, and even became the first streamer to livestream a movie red carpet event. But N3on’s recent revelation that he will live 24/7 using an AI model has been widely met with severe criticism.
N3on announces his last stream as a human, explains future plans after backlash
The Kick streamer made an X post announcing that this was his last stream as a human and claiming that he will now become the first AI streamer in the world, with his broadcast never ending. He elaborated that the AI model was powered by GPT-6 Astra and Higgsfield AI. N3on then went live on Kick in a stream titled “First Ever Infinite AI Stream,” which ran for roughly four hours and gained approximately 20,741 average viewers. He also broadcast another stream titled “First Ever AI Stream,” which got roughly 25k average viewers over the course of five hours.

Viewers chatted normally in N3on’s stream, and the AI reacted to the comments. While this seems like a unique thing, N3on received significant backlash and returned to clarify things. He claimed that “it’s not AI,” and instead talked about the new content as innovation. N3on framed it as trying new ideas and being the first to show viewers unique things, which he said he won’t stop doing. The Kick streamer also said he isn’t retiring and will livestream every day. But he reiterated that he won’t let an opportunity go, because other streamers may try it. The AI model is apparently only meant to be live when N3on is offline. It’s unclear how this development will affect N3on’s streams, but it’s clear that he is one of the first mainstream streamers to do something like this.
N3on isn’t the first AI streamer; vtuber Neuro-sama holds that record
N3on’s X post was quickly community-noted, with viewers clarifying that he isn’t the first AI streamer in the world. Vtuber Neuro-sama debuted as an AI talent in 2022, with her speech and personality being AI-generated, while she used an animated avatar. Neuro’s debut wasn’t to showcase a unique idea; instead, Vedal created her as a bot in 2018 to play osu!. She streamed on Twitch in 2019 before her official vtuber debut. Neuro’s official debut as a vtuber made her the first AI streamer in the world.
It’s important to differentiate between Neuro-sama and N3on, as the former is fundamentally different from how N3on’s AI model would work. Fans have used this point to criticize N3on harshly, and the streamer has been accused of being a “sellout” and potentially ruining streaming for others. N3on’s response to this was for viewers to stop hating and let him try new things.
☑️ My view: N3on can either change livestreaming or fail as an AI streamer
There has been an underlying fear in many sectors about AI taking away their jobs, and now a mainstream streamer has displayed how AI can operate in a livestream setting N3on has taken a risk, which the backlash highlights. However, he could change the shape of livestreaming if he can make this AI project a success. On the other hand, if he fails, others may become discouraged from trying something similar at least for some time.
N3on’s viewership indicates that viewers were curious and tuned into his AI livestreams. But that doesn’t prove that there is enough of an audience that will consume this content consistently. However, AI could make things easier for streamers, but the main issue is that the AI has to be entertaining and be able to keep an audience glued to their screens.
If N3on is able to pull this off, there is another issue that can arise. What happens if an AI becomes more popular than the real streamer? How would it affect N3on and his career, or would the streamer just run a 24/7 livestream with the AI?
