Aspiring streamers may want to know if it’s possible to multistream across Twitch, Kick, and YouTube at the same time, and we have the answers.

The streaming scene may seem old, but its massive boom in success is still relatively recent. The explosion of streaming content in the early 2020s has pushed the likes of Kai Cenat and Darren “IShowSpeed” Jason Watkins Jr. to massive heights. From collaborations with major celebrities to record-breaking streaming numbers, this boom period has placed streaming firmly in the mainstream.

That said, streaming doesn’t have to be exclusive to these big-time creators. One of the greatest appeals for streaming is that there are no set expectations when starting out. Whether streamers want to be the next Kai Cenat or just hang out with a few people while gaming, they are free to give it a shot. However, those prospective streamers who want more reach may want to know if they can multistream on Twitch, Kick, and YouTube.

Can you on Twitch, Kick, and YouTube at the same time?

Streamers can freely stream across Twitch, Kick, and YouTube simultaneously. There are no rules on any of these major streaming platforms that bar streaming live across different platforms. Many creators on Twitch, Kick, and YouTube have multistreamed before. Ludwig Ahgren has multistreamed important news and announcements on YouTube and Twitch, for example. Streamers decide which platform is best to stream on in large part depending on their intended audiences.

The only times a streamer may find themselves barred from multistreaming is if they have an exclusive contract. Twitch streamers such as Imane “Pokimane” Anys and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins had multi-year exclusivity contracts with their respective platforms in the past. Smaller and newer streamers don’t have to worry about this, and many streamers who were offered contracts eventually returned to streaming on different platforms upon the expiration of those deals. Pokimane notably streamed on YouTube for the first time in 2024.

Although nothing necessarily stops streamers from multistreaming, most tend to use YouTube for pre-recorded content and VODs. Streamers active on Twitch and Kick may also alternate between those platforms as opposed to multistreaming on them constantly.

Multistreaming can be tricky, and those with slow internet may experience significant quality loss. It may also be more difficult to keep track of chat on two separate platforms. Even so, the primary benefit of reaching two different audiences simultaneously makes multistreaming worth a try.

What is the best program for multistreaming?

Restream is the most popular program for multistreaming on at least two platforms. Restream is among the best and most thoroughly tested multistreaming programs on the market. While it does offer paid plans, the free plan is more than enough for most new streamers. The free plan allows for multistreaming to 2 different channels and works cleanly with OBS.

While streamers can theoretically stream across three different platforms, there’s not much reason to do so for newcomers. The noticeable reduction in stream quality, especially if their internet connection cannot keep up, may dissuade viewers and negate any potential benefits.

There are a few other programs streamers can try if Restream isn’t for them.

Those more comfortable in the OBS environment may prefer using either the Aitum or Sorayuki plug-ins. Users report that Aitum is best for vertical streaming, such as for YouTube Shorts or TikTok. For more traditional streaming on Twitch and Kick, it’s best to stick to Restream.
