MrBeast Gives TeamWater Update, Calls Out Adin Ross
Adin Ross collaborated with Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson during the YouTuber’s first-ever Kick livestream to raise money for Team Water in August 2025. Since then, Ross and others have questioned how the funds have been used and what progress has been made. MrBeast has now shared an update while calling out Ross.
MrBeast’s first Kick stream was a charity broadcast for the TeamWater project, and he collaborated with both Félix “xQc” Lengyel and Adin Ross. The trio discussed many things, including how much they spend on security monthly, and the livestream broke a Guinness World Record by raising more than $12 million in just over 15 hours. However, MrBeast received substantial backlash for not providing viewers with regular updates but he has now released a video in response.
Why Adin Ross and others questioned MrBeast’s TeamWater
MrBeast launched TeamWater in August 2025, streaming for the first time on Kick in the same month, with a goal of raising $5 million during the broadcast. Adin Ross and xQc were part of the broadcast, and the trio managed to raise more than $12 million. This was impressive, and they were commended by many.
However, things turned sour when people started questioning whether TeamWater had made progress after getting so much money as donations in a single livestream. Adin Ross joined the public, asking MrBeast to be transparent and provide everyone with an update. The Kick streamer went as far as to say that if no updates are provided, then the public may start believing that TeamWater was a scam. He called out MrBeast, but claimed he would apologize if updates are provided.
Ross wasn’t the first to criticize MrBeast, as other creators, such as Chen-Ruei “RayAsianBoy” Hsu, also questioned the legitimacy of TeamWater. MrBeast remained largely quiet after the allegations, but told Ray to go to Africa to see whether it really is a scam. He has now shared an update video showing water being provided, and MrBeast also tagged Adin Ross in the X post, as the screenshot above shows.
MrBeast gives fans TeamWater update
The one year anniversary video started off by revealing that TeamWater had raised $40 million for a long-term goal of providing 2 million people with clean water. At the time the video was made, TeamWater had partnered with WaterAid and other non-profit organizations to provide clean water to more than 200,000 people. Some project milestones were shared for Tanzania, Kenya, Brazil, Rwanda, and the United States.
TeamWater provided Tanzania and Kenya with solar-powered water farms, distributed water systems in Brazil, installed kiosks and pipelines in Rwanda, and connected homes with clean water in West Virginia. The video also features some testimonials from people who have benefited from TeamWater’s initiative, with the people sharing how their lives have been improved.
Ross is yet to respond to the X post, and it follows rumours that the Kick streamer may have retired, so a livestream video is perhaps unlikely. Nonetheless, MrBeast’s update shows the substantial progress that TeamWater has made globally one year from its launch.
