MLBB is the most-watched game from the EWC, and it’s hard to see another game beating it
The Esports World Cup 2026 has officially passed its midway point and viewership figures for the tournament have surpassed many expectations so far, as per Esports Charts. The viewership tracking site revealed new statistics for the event on Aug. 6, showcasing just how many games had set new records in viewership, including one name leading the way in views: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
MLBB leads the viewership charts with the MLBB Mid Season Cup receiving the largest audience so far. The biggest MOBA in the world has dwarfed all others with the MSC, and with the MLBB Women’s International combined, the game alone accounts for almost 50 million views.

Half way through the EWC and MLBB leads the way in viewership
MLBB’s 45.3 million doubles League of Legends second place total viewership during the
Esports World Cup
of 23 million. MLBB’s MSC also tops the charts for largest concurrent viewers, with 2.89 million tuning in for the grand finals.
These views are split across multiple channels, with mobile esports channels leading the way, including Indonesia’s MPL channel broadcast of the MSC action. The number highlights the often underestimated number of viewers brought in by the world’s fifth most-populous country, which often flies under the radar.
Co-streams also buoyed the viewership, with Caedrel’s co-stream of the LoL at EWC 26 being the fifth most-watched channel, and Burmese “Zay Casting Channel” ranking in at sixth with a MLBB co-stream.

As per Esports Charts, Team Falcons led the way for all clubs by cumulative watch time reportedly accounting for more than 33 million hours watched across its tournament appearances.
While Esports Chart stated that “the total reflects not only the audience appeal of individual rosters” the reality is that Team Falcons’ number of teams and participants likely disproportionately affects this number.
At the time of these figures being released Falcons had participated in 10 titles, with multiple rosters in both MLBB MWC and MSC, five entrants in Fatal Fury, and three in Street Fighter 6. Chances are, if you tuned into any EWC broadcast, you’d see Team Falcons. Let alone the number of content pieces and spotlights on the teams.
Overall, the figures paint a complicated picture. Viewership is clearly high, but is likely drawn not by individual teams, but rather the huge popularity of games within specific regions or from co-streamers. For several years, co-streams and rebroadcasts have become some of the chief ways that viewers consume esports content
The Esports World Cup continues throughout August, and you can get in on the action yourself by checking out the
upcoming prediction markets for the EWC. In terms of viewership, there’s perhaps only one other game that could potentially dethrone MLBB, and that’s CS2. You can check out our
preview for CS2 at EWC 26 now.
