MKOI was one of the few teams to give solid competition to G2 Esports in last year’s LEC competition, even if the team’s Worlds performance left much to be desired. By contrast, G2 was the most impressive European team in international tournaments last year, leading many to believe that the side will that form into the new year starting with a win over MKOI.

MKOI vs G2 Esports match overview

Betting tip: G2’s better coordination across the map suggests that the team may be the first to secure the baron in the match.

Our MKOI vs G2 Esports pick: G2 Esports to get first baron @ 1.5.

MKOI vs G2 Esports match analysis

MKOI and G2 Esports both qualified for the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, but G2 was the only one of the two teams able to reach the playoffs. While MKOI’s performance in last year’s spring and summer splits was impressive, it also made it obvious that the team may need some major roster changes to go any further than it did.

Unfortunately for MKOI and its fans, no such changes were made that might imply new potential for the side. This team will have to figure itself out as it is.

G2 Esports has a more reliable bottom lane. and a more experienced mid laner in European star Caps, someone who’s considered still to be among the best players in the region.

MKOI’s jungler is the only truly consistent player on its team. While Elyoya will likely secure some objectives for his side, G2 should have enough of an advantage through team fights to ensure it secures the first baron of the game, especially if ADC Hans Sama can scale enough. So it is that siding with G2 getting the baron could be a good idea, especially considering the solid return potential based on listed odds.

As for the match winner, G2 may not have changed its roster the way some fans wished for, but that ultimately may not be a bad thing. The team’s dominant performance in last year’s final LEC split strongly suggests that G2 will comfortably win against most of its domestic brethren, including MKOI.

But MKOI is strong enough to at least take the game the distance, potentially making it a good idea to bet on the game lasting over 29.5 minutes.

MKOI vs G2 Esports betting picks & predictions

While G2’s consistency, teamwork, and overall playing strength will likely earn it the victory, that doesn’t mean that things will be too easy. There’s a good chance that MKOI will put up a good fight here, secure a dragon or two, and take the match the distance before G2 is ultimately able to win.
