A new five-star playable character named Mizuki in Genshin Impact is slated to debut in version 5.4, and many players are curious about her abilities and release date. Here’s everything we know so far.
At the end of the Genshin Impact 5.3 Special Program, developers teased upcoming characters with silhouettes showcasing who will arrive during the Natlan cycle. Seven characters are planned for release, with the first, Yumemizuki Mizuki, confirmed to debut in the next patch.
In a drip marketing post across Genshin Impact’s social media channels, Yumemizuki was revealed as a 5-star Anemo character from Inazuma. While HoYoverse has shared some details about her lore, her combat abilities remain largely unknown. But with the 5.4 beta underway, new leaks have now surfaced, giving us a glimpse into her gameplay and kit. Here’s everything we know about Mizuki so far.
Ability kit leaks have revealed that Mizuki is a five-star Anemo Catalyst user scaling heavily off elemental mastery, just like a big portion of characters from this element.
Mizuki’s elemental skill allows her to enter a Driftdreamer state in which she floats above the ground while dealing AoE anemo damage at set intervals. At the same time, swirl damage inflicted by all party members is increased. She exits this state upon leaving the field, meaning she’s likely to be an on-field driver.
Her elemental burst inflicts another batch of anemo damage and rounds up enemies together. It also leaves a “snack” that the active character can pick up, which either deals more damage or heals that character depending on their current HP. If their HP is above 70%, snacks will explode and inflict damage. When HP is below 70%, the snack pick-up will heal the active character.
Given these abilities, Mizuki is likely to function as an on-field driver and healer for swirl team compositions. Some players also speculate that she will form powerful synergies with carries and off-field sub-DPS such as Mavuika, Fischl, Ororon, and Chasca.
Although Mizuki shares Baizhu’s versatile role as a healer, reaction facilitator, and driver, her underwhelming support capabilities, inconsistent healing, and potential confusing style of play may leave much to be desired for some prospective players.
Mizuki is confirmed to arrive in Genshin Impact with patch 5.4, which has a launch release date of February 12, 2025. Along with her initial release into the game, her signature weapon, Sunny Morning Sleep-In, will also becomes available. This catalyst enhances her elemental mastery when triggering Swirl or landing hits with her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst.
A leak from HomDGcat suggests Mizuki will be part of the first banner phase alongside Wriothesley, followed by Furina and Sigewinne in the second phase. The banners are also rumored to contain four-star units such as Mika, Gorou, Sayu, and Chongyun. The same leaker also claims that she’s headed for the Standard Wish pool. Both Dehya and Tighnari showed up on limited banners before joining the Standard Wish pool in the following patch. If the development team sticks to that pattern, Mizuki could make another appearance on the permanent banner in version 5.5.
