Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo recently announced on X that Kick had hired him as the Director of Product, but then made a new post removing the mention of an official title.

Mizkif is one of the more controversial creators who recently joined Kick after talking negatively about the platform for some time. This move was criticized by many, who claimed it was hypocritical of the streamer. However, Mizkif has been consistently streaming on Kick and even stated that he is discussing improvements with Eddie Craven. The streamer recently claimed that he is the director of the product at the platform, but the X post was taken down after Eddie Craven reportedly asked Mizkif to change the wording of his announcement.

Is Mizkif Kick’s director of product?

Mizkif made an X post formally claiming that he had joined Kick as the platform’s director of product and is running a small team. The streamer discussed this at length in a stream, also stating that he was tasked with working on “massive issues” that Kick is facing. He thanked Kick co-founder Eddie Craven and the platform’s staff for their welcome and asked for recommendations from others to improve the platform.

Mizkif also claimed that Kick would change completely in 6 months under his direction. He then talked about streaming on Twitch, helping Dan Clancy, never wanting to go to Kick, and eventually starting to stream on Kick. The streamer revealed they are working on fixing the front page, creating a dedicated dashboard, reworking the UI, introducing ban appeals, improving chats, and cracking down on gambling streamers.

Mizkif then took down the X post, which started the speculation that he was lying about Kick hiring him or was fired. However, the real reason for this was discussed during the broadcast. Mizkif attended multiple calls during the stream, one of which was with Kick’s co-founder. The streamer revealed Eddie Craven reached out, telling him to edit the post and remove the job title, citing Australian employment law.

Mizkif stated he was unable to edit the post, so he deleted it and created a new one, where he instead stated he was “working very closely” with Kick’s product team. Most of the post was similar, but it removed any trace of Mizkif being appointed in an official capacity. The streamer clarified that he wasn’t fired, and he just jumped the gun in announcing his title.

Mizkif elaborated that he isn’t familiar Australian law, though he is in a Slack with the product team and is working with Kick. Viewers are divided on this new development, with some agreeing that there may be some internal elements holding back Kick from announcing Mizkif as a staff member.

However, some are more cynical, speculating that Kick may not want Mizkif to be associated with the platform, even if he is working with them. It remains to be seen what affect Mizkif’s presence will have, though he is clearly full of ideas for the future of the streaming platform.

Win.gg has approached Mizkif for a comment.
