Dracula and his vampires are coming to Marvel Rivals season 1,

Marvel Rivals will be adding in a new storyline and villains in the official Season 1 release, featuring vampires and Dracula himself along with a variety of hero buffs and nerfs.

With around 400,000 concurrent players per night, Marvel Rivals has inarguably had a great launch. The game has gained positive press for being free-to-play with only its cosmetics costing real money, a large number of characters being available from the start, and more. To maintain its momentum, developer Netease may be shaking things up for Season 1 if data mined leaks are anything to go by.

Players have a lot to look forward to in Marvel Rivals Season 1, from new vampiric plots to additional characters and gameplay changes for the current cast.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 called Eternal Night, features vampires

Data mined information shows that Season 1 of Marvel Rivals will be called Eternal Night and center around defeating vampires.

Some have speculated that vampires, and Dracula in particular, would be coming to the game soon. For instance, Cloak and Dagger‘s description reads: “The pair emerged to find New York under the control of Dracula. They soon joined the heroic resistance fighting against the Empire of Eternal Night.”  Now, data mines from multiple sources are confirming Dracula’s arrival ahead of Season 1.

Dracula appears in a number or Marvel comics, both on his own and as the antagonist to popular heroes like Spider-Man and the X-Men.  A powerful villain, the vampire has a number of comic book powers that Netease could pull from for his in-game abilities:

The same leak revealed that developers will be adding two new heroes at the start of the new season and two in the middle. Given that Marvel Rivals already announced the Fantastic Four, it’s likely that they will be the newly added characters in Season 1. Some fans are surprised that Blade, the notorious vampire hunter, may not be appearing during the vampire season even though he was a part of early leaks around the game. Others theorize that he could come in Season 2 to clean up the mess. There are also a number of leaked heroes who could make surprise appearances.

The Fantastic Four will be debuting in Marvel Rivals season 1.

Marvel Rivals Season 1 changes include new maps, hero buffs and nerfs

Besides new characters and plots, players of Marvel Rivals Season 1 can also look forward to seeing additional maps, as well as buffs and nerfs to their favorite in-game heroes.

Currently, Marvel Rivals features seven maps when three game modes available for play. In Season 1, new maps are set to launch and are likely to feature Arakko, Krakoa, New York, and the Empire of Eternal Night. The latter two play into the theming of the new season as the story is setting Dracula up to be in New York City. The Empire of the titular Eternal Night is a pocket area in Death’s dimension. Vampire central, perhaps?

Several characters are set to get adjustments in Marvel Rivals Season 1. Leaked information revealed that both Captain America and Venom would be receiving movement improvements. Other heroes are also on the docket for adjustments. Popular picks Hawkeye and Hela are likely scheduled for nerfs, while Storm, Wolverine, and Cloak and Dagger may receive buffs and quality-of-life adjustments.

Season 0 officially ends on January 10, though it isn’t yet known if there will be planned downtime between seasons. Hopefully players will be able kick off the New Year right with minimal downtime – by defeating vampires in Marvel Rivals Season 1.
