Marlon Becomes One of the First Streamers To Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

When Marlon “Mar3lg” Lundgren Garcia announced that he would climb Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, many doubted whether he would be able to complete the feat — but the streamer has fulfilled his commitment.
Twitch streamer Marlon isn’t new to IRL streams; indeed, he completed a Europe tour before the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, the streamer’s announcement about wanting to climb Africa’s tallest mountain was met with surprise, as it isn’t in his usual content style, but he still targeted scaling Kilimanjaro in a fast time.
This received positive reception from viewers, and Nick “Lacy” Fosco, who collaborated with Marlon earlier this year, then announced his own IRL mountain climbing livestream where he will climb the tallest mountain in the United States, Mount McKinley.

Marlon climbs Mount Kilimanjaro in just five days
The Swedish streamer had revealed a day before he was set to start the summit that he felt ill during his stay in Africa and had even lost 10 pounds in weight. Marlon went on to say that his doctor had recommended against proceeding with his plan, but he would still climb the mountain.
He also revealed that the Tanzanian government had asked him to not show fires on Kilimanjaro so as to not discourage tourists. He found out before starting his trek that he could hire porters for around $10 per day to carry his belongings, and that 3-5 porters were apparently used per climber.

Marlon finally started his trek armed with all the knowledge and the porters carrying his belongings. The streamer was affected by the trek significantly, as his livestream displayed that he developed heavy coughs and his lips also started turning purple. He also accidentally defecated overnight, having been unable to reach the bathroom in time. The Twitch star also learned about the Kai Cenat and Reginald “Reggie” Travers drama during this time, saying he had no idea what was happening because he was focused on his climb.
The streamer gifted his guides $10,000 but faced challenges before reaching the summit. Just 30 minutes before reaching the top, Marlon started to drift in and out of sleep. His manager forced Marlon to rest, following which the streamer managed to reach the summit. He then waved both the Swedish and American flags at the top of Kilimanjaro. Marlon became emotional, revealing that drama and controversy had affected his mental health, but this climb had made him proud again. He told viewers to trust God and do what you want.

☑️ My View: This could launch a new trend
IRL streaming has significant potential, as can be seen from Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr.’s elaborate YouTube livestreams. Marlon is a notable streamer continuing in the same vein, though Kilimanjaro is clearly a physical effort that takes this to the next level — with the Lacy news, I can see this catching on with other streamers taking on health challenges.
Marlon was seemingly affected by the altitude during the trek, but he continued forward, persevering and reaching the top of the mountain. This was a great accomplishment for the streamer and one of the most memorable feats on Twitch in recent memory.
