G2 esports winning the 2026 LEC Spring split

The 2026 LEC Summer split will be the deciding split to determine which teams can make it to the World Championship, and this preview aims to highlight everything you need to know about it.

It isn’t a stretch to say that the LCK and LCP are the only two competitive League of Legends regions actually pulling their weight currently. The LEC did show potential at the start of the year, but G2 Esports and Karmine Corp are the only teams to have any impressive wins under their belts.

This final LEC 2026 Summer split is the last chance that fan-favorite teams such as Fnatic and MKOI have to prove their merit. Any team that doesn’t perform here will almost certainly get their rosters revamped for next year’s competitive season as they sit on the sidelines and watch this year’s Worlds.

Every team at the LEC 2026 Summer split

Every major European League of Legends team is part of this LEC split. In total, ten partnered organizations will compete across the group stage and playoffs, which will both take place at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany.

There are only three LEC spots available for Worlds. However, this doesn’t mean that every team will duke it out in the playoffs. Instead, four of these teams will get knocked out in the regular season, which means that only six teams will participate in the final stage. The stakes haven’t been higher for these European teams, since this is the last chance they’ll get this year to play on the biggest League of Legends stage.

LEC 2026 Summer split format and schedule

Kicking off near the end of July 2026, this split will continue until mid-September. This is primarily because of the fairly long regular season that’s filled with best-of-three matches for fans to watch.

Regular Season (July 24 – September 6)

The regular season is where a good chunk of this split will take place. This stage consists of single round robin matches where every competing team plays nine matches by the sixth week. As expected, every match will be a best-of-three utilizing fearless draft, ensuring that champions can’t be used twice in the same series.

Playoffs (September 5 – 20)

The top six teams from the regular season will compete in the playoffs. This will be a double-elimination bracket, with every match best-of-five and Fearless Draft enabled. Only the top three teams will compete for Worlds.

LEC 2026 Summer split predictions

G2 Esports is the obvious team to side with here, as most League of Legends betting sites show. The team is the only one to qualify for and play well in international tournaments consistently. In particular, it recently won against the likes of Gen.G and T1, showcasing its potential.

The second team that has been performing well is Karmine Corp. While not nearly as consistent as G2 Esports, the team still ranks among the top three strongest LEC teams. Because of this, siding with it to qualify for Worlds should be a safe bet.

Every other LEC team’s performance is usually a coin toss. MKOI isn’t a bad team, but its roster is extremely shaky and inconsistent. Similarly, Fnatic has gone through so many recent roster changes that it’s unknown whether the team will be able to deliver anything close to what the legendary organization’s name deserves.

The dark horse going into this split very well could be NAVI. The team performed very well last year and primarily struggled because of its lack of experience. If the team got enough practice in between splits, then it could be a force to be reckoned with.
