Subscriptions are a vitally important element on Kick for both streamers and their viewers, but how can you purchase them, how much do Kick subs cost, and how much revenue do content creators earn from them? We’ll answer all of this and more.

Streamers create content both to entertain their fans and to earn money, and while there are multiple ways for Kick content creators to increase their revenues, subscriptions are among the best available ways to grow their communities while also making good money.

How subscriptions work is relatively simple, as viewers pay a monthly recurring fee that benefits both the streaming platform and their favorite streamer. Kick offers more financial advantages compared to competitors like Twitch, allowing streamers get a better split of revenue from those subscriptions. Purchasing subscriptions is relatively straightforward, but viewers should keep in mind the cost and where that money is going when they make a purchase.

How to purchase Kick subscriptions and how much they cost

The standard subscription cost on Kick is $4.99, and viewers can purchase a subscription directly from the Kick channel they want to subscribe to.

Kick displays the price to subscribe to channels in USD, but this cost can vary according to the region a user is based in and their regional currency. Additional payment processing fees may also apply based on the payment method used. Kick then keeps a small fee before distributing the rest to the streamer.

Purchasing subscriptions is simple, as all viewers need to do is go to the appropriate channel, click on the big subscribe button, select the green button that displays the subscription price, and then input their payment details. Kick subscriptions are charged monthly, so viewers will need to ensure that they have recurring payments enabled if they want to continue to supporting the streamer each month.

Comparing Kick subs and revenue to Twitch subs

Standard subscriptions cost the same for viewers on both Kick and Twitch, but streamer revenue payout from subs is significantly different between the two livestreaming platforms.

Kick only offers one tier of subscriptions that viewers can purchase, while Twitch has three tiers to choose from. Both have the standard $4.99 sub that most people are aware of, and then Twitch offers two additional options priced at $9.99 and $24.99, respectively. The exact cost can differ based on region, currency, and other factors, but these are the official listed prices from Twitch.

The amount of money content creators get from these subscriptions also differs from platform to platform, with Kick streamers receiving a significant 95% of the subscription revenue. Twitch, on the other hand, keeps a full 50% of the subscription revenue in its standard split. There are tiers for subscription revenue which will change the amount that goes to Twitch and to the streamer. Twitch also offers more favorable revenue terms to its biggest streamers, who are allowed to keep up to 70% of their subscription revenue.

The difference in revenue going to the streamer clearly favors Kick, and this is one of the main reasons why many streamers are either switching to Kick exclusively or starting to multistream there.
