Shoovy Kick ban

Livestreaming platform Kick has banned content creator Shoovy, and the streamer has since revealed to viewers why he believes his channel was suspended.

Shoovy is a Kick streamer who’s gone viral in the past, and is famous for both his content and for some of the controversies he has been party to. The streamer’s content revolves primarily around IRL streams, and his antics have made him something of a lightning rod for attention.  He was once even arrested live on stream, after which he found himself suspended on Kick. Shoovy is now once again in Kick’s crosshairs, and his actions have again caused Kick to suspend the streamer’s channel.

Why was Shoovy banned from Kick?

News of Shoovy being banned from Kick quickly spread, and the streamer responded to it on social media by claiming that he had been banned for trying to talk down an individual from taking action that could result in his being sent to jail.

As news of Shoovy’s ban spread, some viewers familiar with the streamer and his content chipped in by saying that Kick shouldn’t have banned the streamer for trying to stop someone from committing potential criminal acts. Shoovy spoke to the ban himself, claiming that he was banned because he was trying to help someone “turn their life around.” Paul “Ice Poseidon” Michael Joseph Denino, who was streaming alongside Shoovy in the lead-up to the ban, stated that they were “doing community service.”

But that reasoning doesn’t appear to have been enough for Kick, as it seems the individual in question who Shoovy was speaking to may have been a minor. If that’s true, the interaction would have gone against Kick’s terms of service.

Ice Poseidon had also allegedly displayed a toy gun on stream, which may have been another reason for Kick taking action against Shoovy. This wouldn’t be the first time Kick has banned a streamer because they showed a weapon, real or fake, live during a stream. Cameron “Cuffem” Amos was also banned recently for allegedly displaying a toy weapon during a live broadcast.

Whlie Shoovy is aiming to take a moral stance following his latest ban, some fans have taken issue with his claim given his history. Shoovy’s previous Kick ban came after the streamer was arrested by police for allegedly trespassing onto an abandoned military base. The content creator was eventually released from police custody, and his Kick ban was temporary, so he was able to resume streaming. But the incident was hardly forgotten, as tends to be the case when someone is arrested on stream.

It’s unclear how long Shoovy will remain banned from Kick, but some reports suggest his channel may have been banned for between three and seven days. Screenshots of an email Kick allegedly sent to Shoovy had been passed around on social media that showed the suspension to be for three days. Another supposed email was then spread that showed the duration as being for seven days, and then yet another supposed email was produced with the suspension length reverted back to the original three-day ban.

Shoovy hasn’t himself stated exactly how long he’s been banned for, so his Kick return date remains unconfirmed.
