Eray Can Ozkenar is a former Twitch streaming star who’s since made the jump to Kick to great success, and he has a lot to offer to prospective viewers.

While many of the biggest streamers in the livestreaming world come from predominantly English-speaking countries, creators like Eray are showing that streaming is a truly global phenomenon with a reach that increases every day. The Turkish streamer has nearly a decade of content creation under his belt to this point and hundreds of thousands of followers across multiple online platforms.

With Eray becoming a big name on Kick in his own right, here’s what newcomers and fans alike should know about the content creator.

Who is the streamer Eray?

Eray is a popular Turkish streamer with a history of success across multiple streaming platforms, including Twitch, YouTube, and most recently Kick.

Eray originally began streaming on Twitch in 2016. Between then and 2024 when he left the platform, he had amassed an impressive 1.1 million followers, making him to this day one of the most-followed Turkish streamers on the platform. Eray’s main content focuses on gaming, with the streamer specifically playing a lot of Rust, Counter-Strike, and Valorant. Fans also tune in to watch him open loot boxes and participate in skin lotteries.

Through his community, he is known for being highly interactive with his chat and joking a lot during his video content. Eray especially has seemed to enjoy chatting with other Turkish viewers from across the country.

Compared to some other streamers, Eray has chosen to remain relatively private about his personal and social life, but there are a few things we do know about him beyond his streaming proclivity. He has shared that he has a real love for travel, luxury cars, and football, as well as some aspects of his local culture in Turkey. When he does post curated personal content, it’s more likely to be on his Instagram account than in his popular videos and streams.

Eray joins Kick to great success

In mid-2024, Eray became one of a number of popular Twitch streamers to make the move to competing platform Kick, and it has already been a success for him.

Turkey officially banned Twitch from the country in February 2024, and that ban has been upheld ever since. Some streamers involved with the platform were even detained and questioned by authorities at the time. Kick also faced a ban in the country, but was able to remain online by agreeing to limit Turkish users’ access to certain sections of the platform.

While Twitch has remained somewhat active among Turkish streamers despite the ban, many of the biggest and most-followed streamers among Turkish content creators chose to leave the platform and instead rebuild their following on Kick. These have included Tugkan “Elraenn” Gonultas, Bedirhan “cordiseps” Yamali, and Eray.

Eray seems to have made the switch to Kick quite well, with a following of 550,000 followers already established and many thousands of viewers flocking to each of his streams and videos. He maintains much of his original content style while also hosting and promoting in-person and livestreamed events. Some of those events are related to gaming, while others spread out to Eray’s other passions and interest, including football.

With Kick offering a higher payout for active streamers who draw a consistent and highly-engaged audience, Eray could be making more now than he ever did on Twitch. And that’s before even considering the greater revenue split that Kick offers to its content creators. With his following in great shape and the new revenue opportunities available to him, it’s fair to say that Eray may be doing better on Kick than he has before elsewhere.

Turkish streamers are far from the only content creators to have migrated away from Twitch or YouTube and towards Kick. Felix “xQc” Lengyel signed on in 2023 and has become almost a mascot for the company, becoming the latest streaming on the platform 1 million followers. Other big names for the brand include Adin Ross and Luis Fernando “WestCol” Villa Álvarez.

While Eray may not yet be as big as those top creators, he’s certainly on the right track.
