@KICKEthan’s X post on everything shipped at Kick during October 2026
There are several things Kick has been commended for since the platform’s initial launch, with its revenue split being a major factor. The platform then introduced its Kick Partner Program (KPP), which would pay partners an hourly wage while they were actively streaming. This was met with much praise, and several creators from rival live streaming platforms switched to Kick or started multi-streaming.
Kick has since changed how KPP is calculated. The platform has also introduced several new elements, including the Kick Go Live app and chat ban appeals. Despite all these additions that catered to both streamers and viewers, Kick is currently being criticized on social media.
Kick has released several features for creators and viewers
October was a major month for Kick, especially because of the introduction of Kick Events. This new dashboard compiles eligible events on the platform, so users don’t have to hunt for streams. The new feature is also useful for creators, as it can increase discoverability and exposure. This was evident from Adin Ross’ Brand Risk 16 event, which crossed 1 million peak concurrent viewers on Kick.
Other additions include OG badges for up to 100 of Kick’s earliest supporters, a 7-day streaming calendar, and Go Live app additions.Streamers can now customize their stream, add animated alerts, and let viewers react on-screen. Kick is now also available on LG TVs, with Ethan asking which device users want the platform on next.
Viewers have gotten several more features, including the opportunity to earn KICKs badges for sending KICKs, which will be displayed on channel leaderboards. The platform has added almost 5,000 new game categories and live channel and viewer counts on the homepage.
Despite all these additions, some being major and others quality-of-life, Kick is getting serious flak on X.

Creators are criticizing Kick for allegedly driving away streamers due to changes
Kick has been receiving backlash for a couple of months now, with several creators alleging that their KPP was reduced. Ethan Wright and Kick co-founder Eddie Craven both issued public statements, claiming that the KPP errors were due to a technical issue.
Wright later stated that Kick had changed how KPP was calculated, and creators would get back pay. However, many creators have continued to claim that their KPP isn’t back to normal. This criticism was a major focus after Ethan Wright posted the new Kick additions. Several creators weighed in and accused Kick of not properly paying streamers.
Another criticism that Kick is currently facing is the fact that the platform is running ads, but not paying creators. Eddie Craven has previously stated that the revenue generated from ads is insignificant, and Kick creators are being paid substantially more through the partner program. However, some users used the ad revenue and alleged KPP drops to accuse Kick of trying to take advantage of creators.
Some users have also alleged that Kick isn’t considering its old and loyal creators; instead, it’s trying to attract trending streamers or celebrities. It’s worth noting that Eddie Craven was told to find a way to support homegrown Kick streamers, and some of the ideas have reportedly been implemented. However, this criticism suggests that some users still feel Kick could do more for veteran streamers who have remained loyal to the platform for years.
