Kick Offers Viewers More Visibility in Chats — Here’s How the New KICKs Pinned Messages Work

2026 has been a stellar year for Kick users, with the brand investing substantially in very visible updates. The livestreaming platform has now introduced another new option where Kick viewers can use KICKs to pin and highlight their messages in chats.

Twitch and Kick have several similarities, which makes sense given that the Stake-backed platform launched as a competitor to the Amazon-backed giant. Bits are a common method for viewers donating to their streamers on Twitch, and Kick released KICKs in November 2025 as a similar currency that viewers can send to creators. Kick has now expanded KICKs and given viewers an option to pin their messages while supporting creators.

New KICKs feature allows viewers to pin messages so they stand out

A common element in popular streamers’ chats is that they are cycling fast, and it’s sometimes hard to keep up. Kick has introduced a feature that can allow viewers to pin these messages in the chat for a specific amount of time. This feature isn’t free to use, and viewers will have to spend KICKs, which is the livestream platform’s virtual currency.

This new option is currently available, and viewers can access it by clicking the KICKs icon. Viewers will need to spend between 500 and 50,000 KICKs to pin messages. It’s also worth noting that streamers or their moderators can remove the pinned messages, but that won’t refund the KICKs.

Kick has explained how the pinned messages will work, as it’s likely that multiple viewers will try to make theirs come to the top. Pinned messages won’t be displayed chronologically; instead, the KICKs value and the time the message was pinned will determine which is shown at the top of the chat carousel.

The duration of the pinned message depends on how many KICKs were sent. Feedback on this new feature appears mostly positive, with viewers excited to highlight messages in their favorite streamers’ chats. However, some have taken to social media to ask Kick to give an option to send a custom KICKs amount rather than using the preset slider option.

☑️ My View: This has huge potential in busy chats

Kick has stated that this new feature is intended to be used so viewers can get noticed by the streamer whose chat they’re sending messages in. This makes sense as popular streamers have substantially fast chats, and messages can be pushed away almost instantly; this update solves that problem. While this will cost the viewer, it will effectively ensure that their message gets more visibility and increase the probability of it being seen by the streamer..

Kick’s latest feature is a beneficial addition, as many viewers want to feel connected to their streamers, but this is hard with creators who have larger audiences. Pinning a message can help increase engagement with that comment and also potentially lead to a streamer commenting on it. To me, as long as viewers can spend money to keep their message pinned, this is a good addition for immersion and exposure.
