Here’s what you need to know about Kick’s new ID verification

Livestreaming platform Kick is the latest to introduce online ID verification for some users, and we have the exact details on who needs to verify their identities and how that process works.
ID verification has become a necessity across many platforms online, and Kick is now joining that growing list. The livestreaming platform has gone on record in saying that content creators will need to verify their identities by a set date in order for their payouts to be successfully processed. Reaction to Kick’s new policy has been divided, and many users are wondering whether everyone is required to verify their identities or if it is only necessary for streamers.
Who needs to verify their identity on Kick?
Kick has thus far only asked streamers to complete the ID verification process, and regular users on the streaming platform are unlikely to be affected by the new requirement.
While Kick announced that ID verification is being added to the livestreaming platform, the details provided seemed vague to some. Kick stated that content creators have until November 13, 2025 to complete the process and successfully verify their identities. The platform elaborated that streamers who fail to verify their identities may face issues with their payouts.

Kick hasn’t laid out any plans for adding identity verification for its majority of users, though it’s possible that the platform may require them to upload their government documents for age-restricted content in the future. Kick already hosts a great variety of gambling streams, and it’s possible that interacting with these streams could one day require further verification.
Other livestreaming platforms such as Twitch already require identity verification for some viewers depending on their location, in order to abide by laws in certain countries that require that such verification take place.
How to verify your identity on Kick
Kick’s ID verification process is straightforward, but it requires users to have a Stripe account, as that’s where their identity documents are uploaded.
Stripe is Kick’s payment partner, and the streaming platform is currently only rolling out required identity verification for content creators who might need to be paid by Kick. Thus the need for the documents need to be shared with Stripe.

Here’s how to verify your identity with Stripe:
- Opening Stripe should bring up a pop-up that asks for verification
- Upload a photo ID that matches your legal name
- You should get an email confirmation that the verification was successful
- If something is missing or needs to be corrected, a follow-up email will be received with the appropriate steps
- Successfully verifying your identity ensures your Kick payouts will be processed
It’s a relatively quick and simple process, and getting it over with sooner than later will assure content creators that they’ll continue being paid correctly and on time.
