IRL content has become a staple of livestreaming, and a revamped mobile app from Kick is set to make it even easier to broadcast while on the go.

Kick is the newer kid on the block compared to its chief competitors, but it has already made a name for itself, attracting both top content creators and a large viewer base. The platform is unique in that it boasts features like higher revenue payouts for streamers and a more immersive viewing experience thanks to its lack of ads. Kick also makes content creation and consumption on the go effortless.

This is particularly important for Kick given that IRL streamers are all the rage right now, and the platform’s revamped mobile app allows them to go live anywhere in just a few quick taps.

What is the Kick mobile app?

The Kick mobile app is software available for both Android and iOS devices that users can download to their mobile devices to more easily and readily use the livestreaming platform on the go.

Livestreaming platform Kick’s mobile app isn’t strictly new, as it has been around for years dating back to as early as 2023. Mobile apps for livestreaming services and platforms are all but a necessity these days. What is surprising is that Kick didn’t make any big, formal announcements when it revamped its app and changed how IRL streamers can create content through it.

Kick CEO Eddie Craven promised that the platform had something in store for streamers who create IRL streams, and this reconfigured app delivers on that promise.

Kick’s mobile app allows anyone to go live without requiring any expensive streaming setups, allowing streamers to broadcast live, talk to their live audiences watching from home, and also read chat messages, all from their mobile devices. This is a massive step forward and could bring more IRL streamers to the platform, which seems to be what Kick is aiming for with its fresh relaunch.

Kick’s mobile app allows streamers to do everything from editing the title of their streams to changing their mic volume or intended stream quality with just a few easy taps. Content creators can also use both their device’s front and back cameras, based on necessity and preference. The application even has a feature to use a third-party mic, if users want to take advantage of a more advanced audio setup while streaming via the mobile app.

The app doesn’t necessarily force users to use more expensive plugins, but it has the option for those who want it, just want more convenience about the relaunched Kick streaming app.

How to go live on the Kick mobile app?

Kick has made going live on stream through its mobile app as easy as clicking the screen a few times and beginning a new broadcast.

Once a streamer is ready to begin a live broadcast, they can simply follow these steps to begin a stream through the Kick mobile app:

Kick has already made inroads in revenue sharing and ease-of-use. Its revamped mobile app and the impressive simplicity it provides to streamers looking to go live on the go is just the latest move by the streaming platform to make its experience that much easier and more convenient for content creators. And with the growing importance of IRL streaming on the go in the content creation space, this could prove to be a big development for Kick.
