Kick reports continued growth as monetization efforts expand
Livestreaming platform Kick is expanding its monetization efforts while continuing to report rapid growth, with executives revealing new figures on the platform’s user base and workforce.
Kick initially launched as a livestreaming platform positioning itself as a rival to Twitch. The platform provided users with an ad-free experience and gave streamers a 95/5 revenue split. These factors helped Kick establish itself as a leading platform for
top casino streamers, but it now appears to be shifting its focus toward monetization. Kick executives have reportedly confirmed that the platform has recorded significant growth, with
executives claiming the platform now attracts 10 million weekly visitors.
Kick has reportedly grown to 1,000 employees, with 10 million weekly visitors
In a profile by The Sydney Morning Herald, it was reported that Bijan Tehrani and co-founder Eddie Craven had
invested $1 billion into Kick. Tehrani also explained that Kick has retained its beta tag because the team rushed the platform to market. Despite this,
the livestreaming platform has reached 100 million users within just three years.
That initial investment may have played a key role in Kick’s rapid growth, as the company prioritized creator incentives over profitability. As a result, the platform has yet to become profitable.

The Sydney Morning Herald article also revealed that according to Ethan Wright, a director at Kick, the platform has
grown to approximately 1,000 employees and will be moving into a larger office later this summer.
He also said that Kick now attracts 10 million weekly visitors.
The figures have prompted mixed reactions from users. Some have described them as impressive and indicative of Kick’s growth. Others, however, have questioned their accuracy, alleging the figures could be inflated by viewbotting. While there is no evidence to support those claims, viewbotting remains a serious issue across livestreaming platforms. Both Kick and Twitch have
taken steps to combat the practice, but it continues to persist.
Beyond its reported audience growth, Kick is also evolving its business model by
experimenting with ads
and placing less emphasis on gambling streams. The introduction of advertisements has drawn backlash from some users, but Craven has previously stated that they are necessary for the platform’s long-term business model and cannot be ignored.
It remains to be seen how significantly Kick’s new strategy will reshape the platform and its experience for creators and viewers. While the company is unlikely to abandon the features that helped make it successful, its ability to balance monetization with continued growth will likely define its next phase.
