Xenathewitch Kick ban

Controversial streamer Amaris “Xenathewitch” Xena has gone viral for shooting someone with a paintball gun on stream, and her actions have now led to Kick delivering a ban to her.

Xena is a Kick streamer who is infamous for her at-times controversial words and deeds, and those deeds have led the platform to punish her for her latest transgression. The steamer’s previous incidences have included verbal altercations and spray-tagging vehicles during Paul “Ice Poseidon” Denino’s scavenger hunt, but none of those stacked up to her latest act.

During Ice Poseidon’s Scavenger Hunt, Xena shot an innocent bystander with a paintball gun and Kick promptly banned the streamer after she received much backlash from viewers and users across social media.

What happened during Ice Poseidon’s scavenger hunt?

Streamer Xenathewitch shot a woman with a paintball gun during a Scavenger Hunt event hosted by Ice Poseidon, and most viewers agree that the act was no accident. It drew immediate ire from across social media and led to a prompt ban by Kick of Xena’s channel.

Ice Poseidon announced a new scavenger hunt event in July, and it began on August 8. The event took place in Austin, Texas, with many prominent steamers competing for a $30,000 cash prize. Ice Poseidon’s previous event have played host to a variety of controversies, and this latest iteration proved no different.

Fellow streamers were quick to catch on that the person hit with a paintball wasn’t part of the event, telling Xena that she had shot an innocent bystander. Xena dismissed the revelation by saying “I don’t give a f—.” This irked many viewers, and a larger debate was soon started about shooting paintball guns in an uncontrolled environment, as well as general public safety practices for IRL streamers.

As soon as clips of the stream went viral, users across social media began demanding that the streamer be held to account and that Kick ban her from the streaming platform. On August 12, Kick ultimately did ban Xenathewitch to the satisfaction of many. Some still claim the platform was too slow in taking action and should have been more proactive. Another contestant of the scavenger hunt, Shaun “Shoovy” Sharkey, revealed on stream that Xena had been banned from Kick for the long-term, though the streaming platform hasn’t yet offered comment on the nature of length of the ban.

The person who was allegedly shot by Xenathewitch with a paintball gun has filed a police report, according to a local news outlet, and law enforcement is investigating the case.

According to that local news report, the alleged victim has already reported being hit by a paintball along Lakeshore Boulevard. The Austin Police Department reported that multiple livestreamers were armed with paintball guns while participating in a scavenger hunt and that the case is being investigated as an assault with injury. No arrests have yet been made, but that may change as the investigation proceeds.

This isn’t the first time Xenathewitch has been part of a public controversy or displayed violence on stream. She previously got into a verbal argument with an Uber driver in January 2024 that ended in violence. During the altercation, Xena’s friend ultimately snatched the driver’s phone and smashed it on the pavement. This incident also occurred live on stream, and it appears Kick has finally decided to remove the streamer from its platform due to her behavior.
