Here’s a Rundown of the Major New Features and Improvements on Kick in August 2026

Kick Director Ethan Wright has shared several new features that were introduced on the platform in August, also revealing that the team will continue to “push out great updates after great updates”.

Livestreaming platform Kick is serious about introducing new features and making changes to improve the experience for both streamers and viewers. The Kick GO Live mobile app may be the standout addition the livestreaming platform has made in 2026, but there are several other features and changes users will see thanks to some notable updates last month.

What new features does Kick’s new August 2026 update bring?

The X post, shown below, highlights that the features are for both streamers and viewers, with the major one for creators likely being the streaming calendar. Streamers can schedule future streams, which viewers will be able to see directly on their channel. This can help streamers plan their content, and viewers have a way to keep a tab on their favorite creators.

Kick has also added active chatter count to streams, allowing users to see how many viewers are chatting and not just watching. This addition is controversial, as some parties are attempting to use it as a method of checking whether a streamer is viewbotting. However, chat engagement isn’t a guaranteed way to confirm that someone is indeed viewbotting.

Changes on the viewers’ side are aplenty, including the option for editing profiles on the mobile app, Streaks and Daily rewards, hovering over chat to slow it down, engagement badges, and Channel Points. Viewers can unlock rewards simply by watching for an hour per day, and Channel Points can be earned by watching an applicable channel.

Viewers can also appeal their chat bans using unban requests, which are already live. The process is straightforward, and once a viewer submits the appeal, the streamer or their moderators can decide whether it should be accepted or rejected.

Kick has also added 11 new languages, including Belarusian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Mongolian, Romanian, and Slovak. Ethan even asked what other languages should be added next, indicating that Kick is proactive about ensuring global reach and accessibility. This is a major step, as Kick is significantly popular among Spanish-speaking viewers, and adding more languages will help the platform reach more diverse audiences.

☑️ My view

Kick reportedly hit 100 million users in 2026, and this is a huge milestone, but it also increases the effort the platform needs to put into its services. This includes making it easier for streamers to broadcast content, which Kick has done by launching the GO Live app. There are other things, such as Creator Tools and a detailed dashboard, that the platform can improve to cater to streamers.

It is clear that Kick has made a very public effort into improving the user experience for viewers, and one underrated aspect has to be massive increase in languages — to me, this is indicative of how ambitious the platform is to become a truly global hub for all things streaming.

Discovery is another element that Kick should focus on next. Creators want their content to reach more viewers, especially smaller streamers who haven’t built more established audiences. Viewers are also looking for content that matches their preferences, and Kick can continue improving its personalized feeds for users.

Ethan’s X post indicates that Kick will continue the extensive improvements at pace, and it seems that even in, say, 12 months, the platform could be unrecognizable.
