Kevin Hart livestreaming Kai Cenat

Hollywood actor and comedian Kevin Hart recently discussed the stratospheric popularity of content creators, comparing Kai Cenat’s livestreams to the Super Bowl in terms of viewership.

Kai Cenat is unquestionably one of the biggest streamers in the world right now, and Hollywood actor Kevin Hart has used his viewership reach as an example of why livestreaming is a major opportunity for the young generation.

Kevin Hart discussed livestreaming with James Dumoulin

James Dumoulin is a significantly popular creator known for his School of Hard Knocks podcasts, which post videos all over social media. The creator approaches millionaires and billionaires, doing short interviews with them and helping his viewers learn secrets or get advice about money, business,  and life. Dumoulin did a similar video with Hollywood celebrity Kevin Hart, discussing several topics, including his finances, business, and much more.

James Dumoulin ends all his videos similarly, and Kevin Hart was asked to advise the younger generation; this is where the actor talked about young people having more avenues to earn. He elaborated that the generation may not own the resources, portals, or platforms, but they can be used in a unique way to create content and make money.

The actor wasn’t just talking about streamers — instead including content creators, influencers, and others in the same bracket. He also spoke about entrepreneurs using these platforms to build an audience, attract investors, and then reach markets.

Hart talked about how creators regularly reach 300k to 400k viewers, giving the example of Kai Cenat and Drew “Druski” Desbordes. He spoke about his livestream with Kai Cenat staying close to 900,000 for roughly eight hours. The actor commended the viewership, explaining that these are Super Bowl numbers, and Kai Cenat is regularly getting solid viewers. Kevin ended the discussion by advising the young generation not to miss out on the opportunity, as they already have a large audience that brands are looking for.

Comedian Kevin Hart isn’t the only Hollywood celebrity to talk about livestreaming’s growing mainstream exposure, as action star Mark Wahlberg also recently discussed streamers becoming a growing marketing tool.

Editor’s view: Creators are the new marketers

During the initial days of livestreaming, some assumed this was a new way for gamers and other creators to pursue their hobbies, but this mindset has since evolved. Several of the early adopters of streaming and other creations accumulated massive audiences, and this helped them start earning millions — MrBeast is just one example of this.

It didn’t take long for companies to see the potential value in collaborating with creators, and sponsorship, as in the case of Ludwig, can clearly be mutually beneficial. At the same time, there has been a decline in traditional TV advertising because of the introduction of streaming services, such as Netflix, which has affected viewership. Even the heavily anticipated GTA 6 will release its extended look on Netflix, which is a first for a video game and shows the direction of travel.

The crossover to the mainstream has also been shown with Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. partnereing with KFC in a recent commercial. Kai Cenat was also seen in an NFL commercial alongside his mother.

The advantage creators have over traditional marketing channels is that they have a more intimate relationship with their audience. Many fans watch their favorite creators for hours, and viewers can be global, allowing creators to cross borders without too much effort. It is clear that, as Hart outlined, this is a trend that is going to continue.
