Will Kai Cenat Grow His Twitch Subscribers in the Remainder of 2026?
Twitch streamer Kai Cenat is one of the most popular personalities on the platform, with his number of followers climbing with every new event that he announces. However, his subscriber numbers have been less straightforward.
The American went on an unexpected break after shattering Twitch subscriber records with his Mafiathon 3, but eventually returned with Streamer University 2026. The creator did become the most-subscribed Twitch streamer after his return, but has since fallen down the list. Regardless, Cenat has shown a willingness to shake up his content in recent weeks, and this has been picked up by traders at the prediction market Kalshi, who are speculating how many Twitch subscribers Kai Cenat can gain before the start of 2027.
Cenat peaked at over 1.1 million Twitch subscribers in 2025, but the streamer’s 2026 is going slower
There is substantial history behind Kai Cenat’s Twitch subscriber count, with the streamer reaching new highs thanks to his Mafiathon subathons. The first one helped Kai Cenat reach the number one spot on Twitch’s most-subscribed streamers list with over 300,000 active subs in 2023. This record was broken by vtuber Ironmouse in 2024, when she gained more than 326,000 subs during her own subathon. Kai Cenat returned with Mafiathon 2 in 2024 and destroyed Ironmouse’s record, reclaiming the number one spot with more than 700,000 subscribers.
Mafiathon 3 was the game-changer for Kai Cenat, as he became the first Twitch streamer to cross 1 million subs, peaking at over 1.1 million subscribers during the 2025 event. However, the streamer went on a break following the massively successful subathon before returning months later. Kai’s active subscribers had since decreased substantially, but the streamer reportedly gained more than 60,000 subscribers within hours of his stream.
That number has since decreased, and Kai Cenat is no longer number one on the list. There are several reasons that could have caused this, including that Kai Cenat is now multistreaming on YouTube, hasn’t done a recent Mafiathon, and is also seeminglytchanging his content to include IRL streams.
Kai Cenat needs another Mafiathon to hit all Kalshi Twitch subscriber milestones
Kalshi has listed multiple contracts that traders can purchase based on their estimate of how many subscribers Kai Cenat can reach before 2026 ends. These include 600,000 or more, 700,000 or more, 800,000 or more, 1,000,000 or more, 1,100,000 or more, and 1,200,000 or more. The first milestone is the most popular, with 12% implied probability, and 1.1 million is the second favorite, with a 9% chance.

600,000 or more is trading at 15c for Yes and 92c for No. The other contracts have Yes decreasing by one cent and No increasing by 1 cent. This market opened in January 2026, when Kai Cenat was on a break, and he returned roughly 6 months into the prediction market. This could explain why traders are wary about Kai hitting one of the larger milestones and could be purchasing the lower-number contract.

☑️ My Analysis: A tall order to hit any of the Kalshi milestones
Kai Cenat reaching these milestones with roughly three months left until the end of 2026 seems like a long shot because the streamer has indicated that he won’t be hosting Mafiathons anymore. If this becomes confirmed, it has to be a big hit for Kai’s Twitch subscribers, as his numbers typically increased during the subathon events. Kai is seemingly prioritizing other ventures, such as Streamer University and his newly debuted IRL tours.
If Kai Cenat returns with Mafiathon 4 before the year ends, it may be possible for the streamer to cross even 1.2 million subscribers. His historic records during the subathon events show that each reached a higher milestone than the previous one. Mafiathon 3 peaked at 1.1 million active subscribers, which indicates that it’s possible for Kai Cenat to go above and beyond. However, the streamer also dual-streams on YouTube, which could potentially affect his Twitch subscribers.
