Is Kai Cenat quitting streaming? Here's what he really said

Twitch streamer Kai Cenat shocked his massive fan following when he shared a video titled “I Quit,” but is the popular streamer actually quitting streaming on Twitch and elsewhere for good, or is there something more to what he said?
On January 13, Kai shared a 23-minute video on his YouTube channel that explained his decision to pursue something new outside of streaming. The lengthy video started off with Kai and his mother having a deep chat on the beach followed by a vlog of him traveling to Italy to announce his own new clothing brand, Vivet. He shows his fans a bit of the clothing creation process, including sewing the actual denim.
However, the video’s title was a bit misleading. Kai Cenat isn’t actually completely quitting streaming, although he is going to focus more on his other passions rather than keeping a consistent streaming schedule on Twitch and elsewhere. The video was about his decision to quit overthinking and doubting himself, rather than Kai stopping streaming entirely.
“I feel like sometimes, people need to self-reflect and take a step back from the broad perspective of what their life has been,” Kai said. “I believe that there is more to the world than is much greater than myself. The energy and passion to want to do more and create is within me. That’s why I quit.”
Kai Cenat inspires fans with “I Quit” message
Kai Cenat has previously shared that he was struggling with his mental health due to his encroaching self-doubt. Kai spoke about watching anime and taking inspiration from his favorite anime shows, but has generally been vague about his streaming future.
“The reason I’ve really been in my head is because I just want to do more,” Kai said. “I’ve [come] to realize that I’m a true creator, and I’m very passionate about creating and I have other goals and things that I just want to achieve and do more of.”

While reflecting on his career, Kai Cenat admitted that he was “losing touch of reality” due to his constant streaming. He realized he wasn’t spending time with his friends or family as much as he wanted to. He was also starting to feel like he couldn’t achieve his goals in life since he was only known for one thing, and that was streaming. This led to his feeling that he needed to “fully reset.”
In his latest video, Kai Cenat said that he has decided to “quit overthinking” and “quit staying in my head about the goals [he has].” Instead, he wants to pursue those goals. Maybe they won’t work, but he feels that he has to see what he can do.
At the same time as the “I Quit” video went live, fan response to the announcement was generally positive, with most appreciating his sentiment and his plans. There were some who felt deceived by the title of his video, assuming that Kai Cenat was actually quitting streaming only to find out otherwise.
Is Kai Cenat quitting streaming?
Kai Cenat never explicitly said that he actually plans to quit streaming, and the “I Quit” video was actually about quitting self-doubt and overthinking, not about leaving his streaming career behind for good. In fact, Kai Cenat’s new channel appears to support the idea that he plans to continue making content throughout the process of launching a new clothing and fashion brand.
The behind-the-scenes footage shared there gives fans some insight into his passion for fashion and other ways he wants to improve his mental and physical state beyond the style of streaming he has become known for.
Kai may well stream less while he chases his fashion dreams, or he could again keep up a busy streaming schedule once gets back to creating content. Kai currently has over 20 million followers on Twitch and is one of the biggest streamers on the platform, with legions of fans waiting to watch him upon his return. He recently finished up another Mafiathon subathon event and was spotted in Italy after. Fans believed he was simply on vacation, but he was actually hard at work, making clothes and starting up his new fashion brand.
“This is the first time I’ve had a passion for something besides content creation,” Kai said. “This is not me sticking my name on a brand and money-grabbing.”
This latest announcement follows what was a very public break-up between Kai and ex-girlfriend Gigi. It was surely a rocky end to 2025 for the streamer, but he now looks to be opening up a new chapter in his career.
