Kaceytron offers apology after settling Ethan Klein lawsuit
The long legal battle between Ethan Klein and Kaceytron over alleged malicious copyright infringement has reached a resolution, with the two streamers settling while Kaceytron delivers a formal and public apology for her actions.
Ethan Klein had filed a lawsuit against Kaceytron and other streamers and content creators for copyright violation by way of their streaming his protected content. The suit against Kaceytron specifically mentioned her group viewing of Klein’s Content Nuke video without any added commentary or other reaction that might potentially qualify the broadcast for fair use. Kaceytron tried to settle the suit by offering Ethan Klein $17,500, but Ethan pressed on.
Ethan Klein and Kaceytron have now settled the lawsuit, putting their legal battle behind them.
Kaceytron delivers apology to Ethan Klein
Streamer Kaceytron issued a public video apology to Ethan Klein in which she took responsibility for copyright infringement of his Content Nuke video.
Kaceytron stated that she was wrong in calling the lawsuit “frivolous” and that she did it to garner sympathy. The streamer shared that she learned a significant amount about copyright protection through the ordeal, and that the entire streaming industry needs to better respect copyright protections.

Kaceytron also revealed that she didn’t receive any support from
Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker, financially or otherwise, despite Hasan having publicly crusaded around the issue. She alleged that Hasan only wanted to look good publicly with his offer of help, and that he never actually reached out to her. Hasan commented on this in a stream of his own, saying that if “throwing him under the bus” fixes Kacerytron’s legal issues, then she should do it.
Kaceytron confirmed that the remaining funds from GoFundMe, after paying her legal fees, will be given to Ethan Klein as part of the settlement. She also said she’ll support the litigation against the H3snark mods who promoted her video. The content creator then
apologized to Zach “Asmongold” Hoyt
for “weaponizing the death of his mother.” She ended her apology video by apologizing to the H3H3 Productions crew, again to Ethan Klein, and to his wife, Hila Klein.
Ethan Klein discussed the situation in a stream of his own, stating he and Kaceytron were part of a court-ordered mediation and that they have reached an “amicable solution.” He watched Kaceyton’s apology during the broadcast, reacting and commenting on it, the very thing he’d made clear Kaceytron had not done when she broadcasted his content. The streamer thanked Kaceytron for being mature in her apology and accepting responsibility. Ethan also jokingly thanked all of the donors to Kaceytron’s GoFundMe for putting together funds that he will now ultimately receive.
While this is unlikely to be the last bit of
streamer drama
Ethan finds himself involved in, he and his fans can at least rest easy that in this particular case, the legal settlement has left him largely vindicated. The outcome may also serve as a warning of sorts to others who are tangling with Klein.
