Jynxzi gets LoL ban, Riot steps in and gives him free creator account

In a surprising turn of events, massively popular streamer Nicholas ”Jynxzi” Stewart faced a League of Legends ban, but Riot Games responded by giving him a creator account. Here’s why Jynxzi was banned in the first place and why Riot decided to show leniency and give him a free account.
Jynxzi started his content creation journey in 2019, with a handful of viewers. The streamer consistently created unique content, slowly gaining more followers. He streamed primarily on Twitch, and most of his early content revolved around Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege. Ubisoft honored him by even creating an in-game charm with the creator’s name, and Jynxzi won the Best Breakthrough Streamer and Gamer of the Year awards at The Streamer Awards 2023. Jynxzi’s sizable net worth is also testament to his on-screen success.
Why Riot Games banned Jynxzi’s LoL account
There is a very straightforward reason why Jynxzi’s LoL account was banned, which the streamer himself confirmed. He explained that he didn’t want to go through the onboarding process, so he purchased a level 30 League of Legends account. The streamer claimed he would have to “play against bots for 30 hours,” and did it to bypass that. This is against Riot’s Terms of Service, which explicitly prohibit buying, selling, or using accounts that weren’t created or leveled by the player.

The rules exist to hinder botting and make matchmaking fair for all players. Riot reportedly detected Jynxzi’s violation on the second day of his streaming and took decisive action against him. The ban became a viral topic within the LoL community, with many siding with Jynxzi, claiming the onboarding process really is cumbersome. Despite this, Riot isn’t one to shrink from taking action against violators, regardless of their notoriety.
Riot gives Jynxzi LoL creator account
Drew Levin, the Riot Games employee who flagged Jynxzi’s violation in a post on X, reached out to the streamer. This happened after Jynxzi took responsibility for his actions and acknowledged that he had violated Riot’s rules. Levin didn’t unban Jynxzi’s flagged account, but instead set up the streamer with an official Riot-sanctioned creator account. This means Jynxzi starts off at Iron rank and can compete in a more stable environment.
This accomplished Jynxzi’s goal while also abiding by Riot’s rules. It also works out best for both Jynxzi and Riot, as the creator account has ranked mode unlocked and the streamer brings in hundreds of thousands of views — a rare case of a win-win situation.
Jynxzi reacted strongly to the creator account, excitedly saying, “Wait, Iron account! W Drew.” The streamer is now set to resume his League of Legends streams, and fans are waiting to see how long it takes him to grind out of the Iron ranks.
