The ongoing World Cup tour by Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. has been full of ups and downs, but the latest standout moment saw the streamer win a trophy before his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, and the American even offered to play for India in the 2030 World Cup.

iShowSpeed has been attending and livestreaming the FIFA World Cup 2026 thanks to his partnership with FIFA, Fox, and YouTube. He has shared funny, wholesome, and emotional moments in his broadcasts. The YouTuber has been active throughout, engaging with fans and hitting the headlines with multiple viral clips.

He also noted that the team’s jersey he wears ends up losing, which is why he wore an Argentina jersey. Unfortunately, Argentina won the match despite Speed’s ‘curse’. However, iShowSpeed won the YouTube FIFA Creator Cup, lifting a Minecraft-inspired trophy on the pitch, with many fans commenting that he had beaten his idol Cristiano Ronaldo to winning an official FIFA trophy.

Team iShowSpeed wins YouTube FIFA Creator Cup

YouTube had announced the FIFA Creator Cup in early July, with iShowSpeed dominating the marketing in the clip shared in the X post. This isn’t a surprise as the YouTuber has been consistently livestreaming the FIFA World Cup 2026, and is a massive football fan. FIFA highlighted how big a football creator Speed is by adding him to the FIFA Heroes game’s roster.

YouTube FIFA Creator Cup 2026 saw two teams of seven players take each other on in a game of 50 minutes; it  included many notable names, such as Celine Dept, Jason “JasonTheWeen” Nguyen, Marlon “Mar3lg” Lundgren Garcia, and Speed. Celine Dept and iShowSpeed’s teams were the ones to battle it out in the finals, and Speed won the match with a score of 7-6 before lifting the trophy in New York.

It’s a well-known fact that Speed is a massive Ronaldo fan, and he even cried when the player and Portugal exited the World Cup 2026. Ronaldo recently gifted Speed the Nike Mercurial Superfly 11 “CR7 Gold Scorpion” boots that the Portugal player wore at the World Cup — this makes Speed the only other person in the world to have the shoes. Speed was speechless at receiving such a priceless gift from his favorite football player in what was arguably his highlight of the tournament.

iShowSpeed offers to play for India and help the country qualify for FIFA World Cup 2030

After being busy on the pitch, Speed even offered his services to the Indian national team. India has never qualified for a FIFA World Cup, and the country came up during Speed’s Spain vs Belgium quarter-final broadcast. The YouTuber joked that he could play for India and help the country qualify for the 2030 World Cup. He even said he could play multiple positions, including winger, striker, and midfielder. It’s not possible for Speed to play for the country, as he likely wouldn’t meet FIFA’s eligibility rules around nationality and citizenship, but fans thought it was hilarious.

Former Sidemen streamer Olajide “KSI” Olayinka Williams Olatunji was part of Speed’s broadcast, and joked that the YouTuber “wanted to play everywhere.” iShowSpeed’s comedic reply to India playing in the World Cup went viral instantly, as fans in the country shared the clip widely on social media.

The 2026 World Cup is now at the semi-finals stage and Speed is likely to be busy creating more IRL content ahead of the final, which takes place on July 19. He is also set to take part in another streaming marathon with Kai Cenat.
