iShowSpeed Does an NYC “Find Me” Challenge as a Fan Wins $250k iShowSpeed Does an NYC “Find Me” Challenge as a Fan Wins $250k
A fan tracked down Darren “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. in just around an hour on October 28, completing the streamer’s Find Me challenge and winning $250,000.
The Find Me challenge was straightforward, with viewers being tasked with finding one of five Dr. Squatch mascots hidden across New York City, taking a selfie with the mascot, and using the clue to find Speed. iShowSpeed himself was at an undisclosed location in New York City, and the first to find him would win $250,000. The YouTuber stated he would give out one digit of his coordinates every 10 minutes. Fans started to find the mascot almost immediately after the challenge was started, but one lucky fan made it to Speed in record time to claim the prize.
A nursing student found iShowSpeed in roughly one hour, winning the challenge
Speed was surprised that a fan found one of the Dr. Squatch mascots minutes after he revealed what the Find Me challenge entails.
The YouTuber
gave the first fan a hint: “My location is a secret where there is a typo”. A second fan found a mascot shortly after, and Speed gave him a clue: “People kayak here”. Streamer Shello also found one of the mascots hidden in NYC, and iShowSpeed ultimately revealed his exact location.
A nursing student, Ben, who reportedly only had $2,000 in his bank account, was the first to successfully track down iShowSpeed and complete the Find Me challenge. Ben reportedly completed the challenge in just a little over an hour, and iShowSpeed asked whether he was really the first person here. The fan replied that another person walked in right after him, but Ben was the first. Speed asked his team to bring the other person so he could confirm. The other fan came in and confirmed that Ben was the first one to reach the location.
iShowSpeed talked to Ben about the challenge, and the fan said he found out about the stream at 10 and decided to try, as he was in New York City. He stated he got “lucky”, but also explained that the final location reveal helped him. Ben shared that he used to kayak around this location and that’s how he was able to deduce where Speed was. iShowSpeed then congratulated Ben for winning the Find Me challenge and gave him the reward in the form of a cheque, with this a memorable stream unlike many of
Speed’s other challenges.
